Wingzer023hReplied to Transhumanistmostly manipulation of the jedi's hubris. by the time of the clone wars the jedi had relegated the sentinels to gaurd duty, (temple guards) recruitment,(very few). and mechanics/ technical support. the jedi knew of their specializations but felt that the rest of the order would be more than sufficient to stop the re-emerged sith. the vast majority were temple guards and he arranged their death at the beginning of order 66. in Legends more of them survived but they kept put of sight till the emergence of the One Sith. they felt that they had failed. but they were able to stay hidden for decades before choosing to reveal themselves.

essentially the sentinels were far better equipped to fade into the backgrounds. Many of them served specialized roles that gave the skills such as computer slicing and mechanical knowledge. they also frequently would be away from the jedi order as a whole. many of there skills were tailored towards fighting the Darkside. and they would frequently live among the populace of a planet undetected. look up the you tube video "Why Palpatine feared jedi with yellow lightsabers."

I'm considering a rewrite like I'm currently doing with the Gundam fanfic. I learned the lessons so I'll be back to this story soon to try to make things better

exactly, he named his variation of the form not created a new one. vapaad is a variation on another lightsaber form not a new one. mace created it to channel the darkside he struggled with and turn it into a weapon
On the topic of swordsmanship, he learned Form I through Form IV but focused primarily on Form III Soresu. Gavin took to this form like a fish to water. He could even be considered a prodigy. He adapted and modified it to a form he named Rivers Flow. In its early state, he took inspiration from the way a river flowed bending and moving fluid and without form. It took the defensive and minimalistic movements that allowed Soresu to create such a strong defense and added dodging. Much like a river, he flowed around obstacles in the battle, deflecting what he could not block and dodging what he could not deflect.
