Another mistake…. King Jing got a busy phone tone when he was about to call Ruojing to comment about Cichen’s request for the technology and he gave up.
Especially if you remember the scene at the restaurant when song chen took her when cichen had supposedly lost his memory. She observed that their hands were different cichen’s not having calluses which song chen had because he had work hard being poor. Of course this di dn’t held up very well after it was known that the clone had been busy with Doom. But that’s another discrepancy for another time
Here it says with the memories and next page it says even without the memories…
29 weeks???? That’s almost 7 months she’s only 3 months pregnant!! At least the time Maverick was away also gender is most accurately determined at 13 weeks
Misuse of “however” here. Should be “even though” or just “Okay” or “Fine”, you’re not entirely wrong there… So what?
At 29, Célestine is more or less the same age as her so “young lady” sounds really off here.
When did Lu Cheng recover from his coma!?
There are certain things that don't align though... Song Shen needed the medication, like his sister for the P-Gene deficiency. The sister had memories of him being a student and taking care of her since she was 2. the sister is about 10 y.o. She's being left alone overnight, she has not tried to contact her brother while he was at the Shen Manor... I hope these will be addressed...
I’m disappointed with the mansplaining style here. Sounds like the author is justifying her character behavior rather than spending the effort developing it.
I have 3 main reproaches against this otherwise very entertaining book. 1) In a fantasy logic remains very important as the brain can only take so much dissonance. In that aspect the series of chapters when FL returns to Las Vegas and is not recognized chased and almost run over by ML is not credible and out of character. 2)Throughout the book, foreign countries except for a few creative reinterpreted staple ones, countries are named by letters. However there’s a xenophobic supremacist discourse introduced in the latest chapters that don’t sit well with me. The references to Japanese people in particular becomes vicious. Also, disdainful affirmations are becoming abundant such a China is the greatest country in the world which none of "those little western" ones ca compare to. 3) The translation. Although the mix of pronouns and typical errors found in these translations of Chinese content is not too intense, the writing style makes abundant use of the negative form of questions to intoduce character’s thoughts. However th translator does not master the syntax and most of the time says the exact opposite of what logically ought to be written in the context.
