Talk about adding fuel to the flames. Herbaron Nirtha you sure know how to put Riftan on spot hahahah
because he's been in love with Maxi ever since childhood and he grew up with the thought that someone like him is not suitable for Maxi, being a commoner and all. Plus the fact that he's insecure to the Duke doubled his pride for Maxi's protection to the point of being overbearing. After reading Riftan's POV. His paranoia when it comes to Maxi is so understandable though it's sad.
It's sad, actually. Because of the hardships that Maxi and Riftan went through, they cannot easily express themselves. They have reservations, self loathing, insecurities, doubt and fear that could not be voiced out. Despite the evident love for one another, they simply lack communication and assurance especially for Maxi. Although I wish that they resolve this conflict right away. Certainly looking forward to it!
