Its quite dificult to make a proper comparison between this and LOTM. Shadow Slave is set in a futuristic and post apocalyptic period, while LOTM is inspired by the Victorian era. Another thing I feel the need to mention is about how Sunny’s flaw was phrased. The thing with the Nightmare Spell is that it can translate stuff for the user. What the Spell shows are actually Runes. Runes have multiple meanings and depend on how you interpret them, the meaning can change entirely. An example you will see later on is the True Name of another character. The True Name of this character is introduced as Changing Star at the start, but after Sunny learned how to read Runes, the True Name can also be interpreted as Ruinous Star instead. Perhaps the Runes that make up the sentence for Sunny’s flaw can also be interpreted as “You are forced to always tell the truth.” instead of “You cannot lie.”

See, the thing with this is its a lot more complicated than you think. To change an entire governing system takes a very long time. Especially with a corrupt system like the Feudal System. Even in our own history, it took hundred of years for this system to be abolished. So, while this is not as life-threatening as fighting Dvalin, its much harder and time consuming.

Whether or not Cassie redeemed herself has nothing to with what I was saying. Everyone has their own opinions and I try my best to respect them even if I personally don’t agree. What I said with my comment is to merely point out how hypocritical your statement about Nephis decision being morally disgusting when you yourself also said something quite morally wrong. I meant it as a sarcastic joke of sort, y’know, with the emojis and all… I also don’t quite understand what you meant by “Cassie is a lost cause” and Nephis isn’t. Would you mind expanding on that?
