5 tickets for the author! mainly out of relief. ha ha. the thoughts of the protagonist are likely there to have a starting point for growth rather than the authors actual thoughts! I know you shouldn't assume this anyway but unfortunately it's clear most times that it is the authors viewpoint (especially in, though not exclusive to, translated novels) its just a cudos for the fact I don't have to ignore trash morality to proceed with the story.

I'm sorry to say that Harry Potter isn't actually well thought out. I am happy he has made revisions but he keeps putting all the 'system' works on a pedestal, it's starting to get irksome. Props to JKs success but the HP series is all over the place and there was no overall plan from the start. I'm saying this as someone who's first book series was Harry Potter and is a fan.

No cos saying change the whole chapter isn't constructive criticism! Also, cringe is personal to you! How does anyone know what you find cringe worthy! If the whole chapter is cringe, you should find it easy to pick one example and explain why you found it cringe.

Pet peeve of mine, if you're going to criticise, make it constructive! Asking for less cringe without explaining what you found cringe worthy is just exasperating and unhelpful.
