You can cheer yourself up by consoling yourself that you not only got the potion, but the recipe, which is actually worth more
I still preferred the Ice Mirror over this potion, but it was useful. If I could find a place and items to create potions, I could replicate it over time. Just like I could already almost replicate a life potion, the only real problem in this case here was this fish. - Cadenadeaventuras6hCommented

It could be used to make that famous fermented fish, surströmming. Same stench, taste... peculiar.

"Mousesack believes he can help educate you, you will live in the castle and receive resources for a good education and training, in exchange, you will do work for the crown and serve as a guard for Cirilla."
