I think Dcurt15 is right. So Xiao mean small/little. Zi can be used as purple/ boy etc depending on Homonym. So little purple boy would be the end result !?! That was the best I could try.

The general usage of the quote is “Do you understand the agony of a father seeing off child”. Seeing off can be used as good bye like good bye going to airport etc kinda like farewell but in this quote it reflects as final farewell. But what the translator did was “D o you understand the agony of white haired sending off black haired”. It took me few seconds to understand what translator wants to convey.
