I feel like real Batman would’ve known the impacts of his actions and planned accordingly to always be in control so this weird awkwardness wouldn’t occur and it feels weird that Ben doesn’t keep this in mind and just superficially supresses his reactions, so he doesn’t come off professional and fear inducing but as immature and reckless and putting up a cold front. Ben just isn’t Batman. No matter how hard he pretends. He needs to realise that he isn’t Batman, and that childishly taking on a persona that he doesn’t fully understand how to interact with is harmful. If Ben accepts the Peter parts of his identity that are inherently part of him that and by suppressing and denying them he is causing his own instability because he isn’t secure in his identity so he’ll lash out to receive acceptance and validation from outside sources. There is no need to be angry at himself for being himself but because this is the central plot and conflict that he is going through he gets this tunnel vision and I think his meta knowledge only contributed to this as he thinks he can be in control by not interacting with certain people and calling the right people to deal with situations. His actions are cleaned up for lack of a better term by them, so he doesn’t face the consequences of his actions. He thinks he has a cheat code and knows omnisciently how people will act and how to use this to protect himself. But he’s a human so he’ll have biases and expectations that don’t match up to reality. He’s probably figured out by Daredevil already because he just acts in the most inconsistent of ways. He won’ have all the clues, but he probably could know Bens behaviour is coming from and that he’s nervous in front of him for some reason.

I also think icarus is still a bit immature and a way for him to mature would be to have him accept that the outcome of his efforts isn’t what is important, but the journey of his struggling for freedom has its own meaning to him and he can accept loss and failure with less burden on himself. Of course he still wants to get freedom but he should accept that life is a journey not a single result and his happiness should not be dependant on an uncertain future outcome but the present reality and if he can move towards freedom in the present reality than he can accept and be happy with himself even if he dies right after. I think Icarus is too focussed on surviving so he misses this point and gets upset like a child when he encounters bad results. When he becomes an adult or when he gets further into the journey I would like to see him change his mindset into something more healthy, so we can see that it’s not the feeling of winning and not losing that he desires from his core which is built upon external success and can be superfluous but the feeling of getting closer to his dream so even if he fails he is always moving towards his dream which is constant. I’m saying if he focuses on what he can control which is himself, rather than the world which is chaotic, then he would be more mature and it would help him see more options to attain freedom and he wouldn’t harmed by his own feelings if he doesn’t care what the outside world does. As long as he insists on doing something than he should do it without caring for results but rather because he insisted on doing it, and by doing this his feelings can be based on internal things which he can control.

The reality we see is built on our perception so changing his perception by connection to a familiar will seem like reality has just broken and is being replaced with a new reality. Also the effects of magic superimpose intent onto reality through achievable means. This feels a lot like “I am thou... Thou art I... From the sea of thy soul, I come...” from persona but with puppets and familiars and not legends of belief. It may have also be similar to the connection between Servant and Master but without the summoning from the Throne of Heroes part. Servant share memories in their dreams so you could say they are experiencing someone else’s perception.

…and his reality shattered like glass.

I hope Icarus keeps his hubris. He is essentially someone that follows the rule of man, living under the rule of gods. He is basically a heretic. He questions the gods constantly. He might come to understand the gods, but he is a human and his freedom is basically a lunatics struggle, if you look at the situation properly. In the age of gods, freedom is rebellion and I feel like Icarus might end up like a lucifer type figure for the olympians and end up demonised for his actions, or end up in tragedy, as the original Icarus did. As a servant his legend might be about his struggle to attain freedom or it might be about his arrogance to try and control his life fully and be without the gods influence whether they are blessings or curses.

These stories about the inner voice always suffer from the fact that they make the lucky protagonist and the heroines super 2 dimensional flat characters that either never change or instantly change to falling in love with the villain. While the protagonist and heroines view Jin hai as an incompetent trash. Jin hai also views them as unsentient beings without thought of their own and robs them of any agency to make their own actions yet hypocritically still finds their actions repulsive and doesn’t like them. If Jin hai was aware of his hypocrisy and simply hated them for being part of the charade of the plot where he is forced to act against his will, then there could be the chance of them all growing to change from the situation they’re all in. There is no logic in hating a flat characters action because they won’t change and in jin hai’s mind he views them as characters that don’t change. He claims to hate them because they are arrogant and act like he depends on them, but in the context of the plot, he does depend on them. Because the world literally revolves around them. Hating them for being and acting in accordance to the objective logic of the plot is nonsensical because his role as a villain is absolute in that context. His feelings don’t matter. Whether he is a free willed individual with thoughts of his own that are in conflict with the plot doesn’t matter because their is something with greater power that is twisting the laws of the world to act in this way for the plot. Jin hai himself is arrogant and views some people as literal bugs. He doesn’t understand that circulating money is the key to getting more money. He views other high society people with the same view they see of him but he hates them for being stupid, not realising his actions toward them are just as stupid. He holds onto that hatred for no clear reason because it logically doesn’t make sense. What he accuses the plot characters and extras of doing, he does the same thing, acting on emotions that have no clear reason for them to exist they just do because of the plot. He also hates them because of the plot, with no real logic behind them. This novel acts as if we’re supposed to support jin hai In his arrogance as if that makes him any better. That his love for the maid is somehow more worthy and real than the fake plot characters. Why does it matter if this girl is good to him, after all she is just an extra why should she matter. This double standard on the falseness of their roles in the plot is so apparent yet he acts as if he knows every single person more clearly than anyone else can. What’s the pont of holding onto any love or any hatred if they are all part of the novel world. What’s the point of acting superior to these people if they aren’t real at all. What’s the difference between patiently waiting through punishments from the system or rampaging and killing the world over and over again if it isnt real. What is his desire in the novel world where everything is absolute. What does he dream to make possible in the world where everything is decided. He hates the plot characters for no clear reason other than he doesn’t like feeling bad and they make him feel bad even if he tries to act superior to them. Why waste time bothering to hate them if their roles are absolute. If he didn’t lie to himself and acknowledged that he hates them for no clear reason he could make a choice that he is actually satisfied with. He could choose of his own will whether to continue hating or let go of his hatred towards them. Because he arbitrarily treats some people as fake and some people as real. He denies himself of any real feelings towards these “fake” people. He automatically hates fake people for no real reason than they are in a plot works acting as characters in a plot world usually do. He falsely hates these people for being fake in a fake world. He strips them of agency towards their actions by calling them fake yet still hates them for choosing to

he keep saying this is the riskiest thing he's ever done like that means anything considering he's in the marvel universe. I also hate how he thinks he can have a normal life without ever thinking about the fact that his life may be a story. please give him some sort of purpose after this hydra arc. I don't want to read about some scared guy constantly doubting everything and being generally miserable. give him something to attach to the world. and not constantly talking to himself.

your MC is a massive overthinker with an unreasonable amount of description that leads to boring chapter. I don't care about half the stuff he says. and even though he's been totally ripped away from his normal life and tries to fall back on habits, he has to confront the reality that he needs to just act sometimes without trying to analyse every bit of information and just do what feels right.

I hope you can show that daken does things out of love for the life he lives and not make be just another rampaging psycho killer. If he could somewhat respect or acknowledge people like him who love what they do wholeheartedly it would add to his character I think. I imagine daken to be the kind of person to laugh happily even if he knows he will die in the very next second. These are some of the feelings I get from him. I don't know what the actual comic daken is like but you create characters pretty close to their originals so maybe he is like that.

just cause he is a little more composed doesn't mean he isn't insane from the vast nature of reality, his own reincarnation, the desires of his own body, and his metaphysical purpose for living. he should still be seen as 'evil', yet an essential character.

I don't want him to be an anti hero either. if he views himself as a force of death he should embrace it and accept his lot in life as the mad king and not worry about truths of the universe and love death and not repress his emotions and desires

erechtheus isn't even first king of Athens just an ancient king that was reared by Athena who taught what he learnt from her to the Athenians. his legend is pretty weak. Icarus' divine ancestry is pretty thin so he is less magical in essence and more mortal and mundane. and daedalus is pretty mortal too, although some of his inventions are magical they can't be considered divine. he killed his nephew over making the saw so he looks pretty mortal to me.
