Ignore the haters ! This story is fantastic ! And YES this has happened A LOT OF TIMES and every time it happens some ally/friend/relative of Batman or Batman himself is basically like " Yes I know I/he made a mistake ! Can't we just accept this and move on ? " . Or , even worse , they declare that people harmed by the actions of Batman or any other superhero are being petty and childish for wanting to punish them . This is very , very , very , very ridiculous , so ridiculous that it would have to improve a lot to be complete nonsense !
Seriously, I really liked the fic, the main anti-hero character and the deconstruction of Morality Based on the Protagonist (Seriously, how many times will Industries like DC and Marvel make the "Heroes" of history cause many deaths, massive destruction and then practically say "I did it and I regret it... Let's "move on" and we'll never speak of this again!" Are you going to keep buying this crap?
This is STILL a history of the Slice of Life genre . Using Gacha to make Edward innately the world's greatest unstoppable badass would possibly spoil that , at least for now , as he is still a teenager , even with the life experience of an adult .
Congrats on tackling this. That was one of the things that disgusted me the most about superhero comics! They are constantly claiming that doing things the most pragmatic and logical way is ALWAYS the "wrong thing" to do, then they mumble some explanation and... That's it!
Playing with the fantasies of a cute baby-looking hottie ? So far so good , especially for this fic , but really : In the eyes of others, is he going to have romantic/sexual relationships with a child and everyone is just going to ignore it ? This will end the ( little ) realism of this story !
What cheat ? It was an ACCIDENTAL kiss! Aside from this sort of thing actually happening in real life (It's actually so trite that people laugh about it when it actually happens), this ALWAYS happens in fictional series, like Sitcons and Rom-Com .
READ , AUTHOR , PLEASE My God ! The courage I needed to write this message! Thanks ! Very, Very, Thank You Very Much! I read this fanfic and was ecstatic... and then completely devastated! I want Eddie's life for myself! I always wanted ! I have had several serious problems in my life and now just a few days ago I was seriously thinking that I was done (not completely suicidal, but thinking that it was too late to reconnect with the people that are important to me and live the experiences that I should have lived in high school), I have social anxiety issues and thought I could never have fun. I consciously became addicted to self-insert fanfictions and obsessively imagined myself as the protagonist (the fact that many stories also start like this with the protagonist is not mentally healthy, I'm glad yours wasn't like that, it was one of the things that helped me) , I got addicted to cell phone internet and random TV shows to deal with it and only made the problem worse , because only now , at 22 , 10 years after having these opportunities to socialize I finally got the motivation to move forward . Some might say: 22 years is not old. For someone emotionally stunted, with anger issues, with impulse control issues, with insomnia, with huge family issues, who never had a job, who never went to college, who never did anything with a girl (go out on a date , kiss , fuck , love ) , yes , that is A LOT of wasted time . And a big part of why I finally got the motivation to snap out of it was his sensational Modern Family Fanfiction Self-Insert. I was following her fervently through the week, hated when the weekend came because I would n't read and realized I was trying to live my life through reading about the life of her fictional protagonist. It seems absurd. And is . And it's not even the first time I've done this with a fanfiction plot, TV series or Movie, Novel, HQ or Manga. Only this time I couldn't stand my own bitterness! Many, many, many, many, many thanks to you man/girl. I owe you much more than a thank you for the entertainment. I also wanted to ask you: How do I become as amazing as your protagonist? I don't speak only as a musician, but in life. I know I have to work hard for this. And I will go . But I wanted to know how do I make people like me as much as the other characters like the Protagonist? How can I have that disposition, that charisma, that talent and that optimistic outlook on life? P.S. : If you want to talk , reply in my comments or in my Gmail . And for those who think I'm being overly sentimental about fanfiction, remember, it's not just any fanfic for me, but an attempt to improve mine! Or actually HAVING a life, because what I had before didn't seem like a real life even to the me of those horrible times!
Dude, this fanfic is awesome ! It's realistic ! Sure , it took a while to get to the action part , but it did not disappoint ! I really HATE Marvel and DC SO MUCH and their damn lead-only morality rule! Is Thalia a disgusting genocide? What's the problem if Batman has a sexual and romantic obsession with her? Is Harley Quinn a psychotic maniac and an unrepentant mass murderer? And ? She represents the archetype of a woman in an abusive relationship in the comics, so it's only natural that her terrorist actions have no consequences! Magneto has repeatedly tried to genocide humanity for "mutanty" to reign supreme with him as the ruler/tyrant ? And ? He is a Jew from the Nazi concentration camps and "was just confused, but he was doing what he thought was right". Of course, it's perfectly reasonable that he was so easily forgiven and permanently joined the heroes, despite not having changed a thing! RIDICULOUS BITCHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope this is not forgotten by the MC and the Avengers. Really ! Every time a fight breaks out between two or more superheroes, putting the lives of many innocent people at risk because of the magnitude of these fights, EVERYONE reacts by saying "Well, that was an honest mistake" and just let it go!
I particularly hate it in MCU fanfics when the protagonists deal with the Red Room . Melina and Alexei ARE NOT victims of circumstances , but accomplices in the heinous acts of the Russian government and Dreykov . They didn't get any pleasure out of it, but they didn't disobey and continually said "We were just following orders" as a PATHETIC excuse . The fact that they had, for a short time, adopted and ( maybe ) loved Natasha and Yelena DOESN'T FORGIVE WHAT THEY DID .
I didn't like this story. The author doesn't seem to know where to take it: If the protagonist wants to be a superhero, an anti-hero, an antivillain or a supervillain, if the protagonist likes to kill or not, if the superheroes of this reality follow or not the never-killing bullshit, whether or not they're smart, whether or not Moira is a good mother and whether she loves Lucas, how much of a brat and troublemaker Thea really is how ridiculously and self-righteously hypocrite Oliver acts, etc. Some of these can be forgiven because they're part of series canon, but others are just the Author thinking that everyone will like this story because of being a self-insert vampire in the CW'verse (I'll never call him arro%verse again. Name ridiculous )
Great fanfic, I liked the combination of the MCU and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but it should make the 99 people appear more. I also liked how this pseudo-harem is more like an open relationship (seriously, while in some ways wish fulfillment, many REAL LIFE relationships are far more absurd, believe it or not).
Fuck, finally! FINALLY ! I am completely fed up with self-insert protagonists who allow the characters they read to abuse them in every way just because they read their comic book stories or saw their drawings. It's ridiculous ! The worst is "I Want to Play a Game" (The Protagonist in this story really put up with ALL kinds of physical abuse and , psychological abuse and abuse of authority by superheroes , especially those in the Justice League , and EVERYONE seemed to have completely irrational hatred for him ). This is nearly ubiquitous in every story I've ever read, and it disgusts me that so many of these situations are canonical in DC Comics. Examples: The League "deciding" to end the Titans in DC Rebirth, The League "deciding" which rules must be explicitly and admittedly fanatically followed by superheroes and vigilantes, The League "deciding" that their methods to defend the populace " It might not be the easiest way, but it's the right one" (Disgusting line used thousands of times) in the comics. Congratulations for addressing and subverting this bitching in your story.
