Short answer, the Daemons are not linked to either of the 6 Gods. They're all linked to the 7th God, Dream God, the forgotten God, the [Unknown]. The Daemons remind the 6 Gods of their failure and imperfection (for failing to contain the Void). That's why they were their flaws in a sense, because the 7th God had to be sacrificed. Reread what Sunny learns when he enters the Estuary in the Tomb of Ariel.
I'm sorry, but did you not read the end of Volume 7, where the Dream God's / Forgotten God's / [Unknown]'s relation to the Daemons was revealed, and how being the 'flaws' of the Gods were explained as having to do with the Daemons being 'living proof' and reminders that the Gods weren't perfect (since they failed and had to sacrifice and leave behind one of their own to contain the Void)? The Daemons, which Dream God created from himself before being trapped, were an insult and reminder to the other Gods of their flaws and failure. They're not inverses or negations that have anything to do with [Weaver's Mask]. The expanding Dream Realm, Sleepers, Nightmares etc verbiage really clicked once this was revealed, and as the now Corrupted Dream God stirr in his slumber. It's a shame if you speed-read through this part.
How long until we get to hear the whispers of the Spell again? There was always so much intriguing and cryptic verbiage from the Spell's descriptions in acquired Memories - it'll be a loss of lore if it never returns to the readers. Also, I wonder if the treacherous Lost from Light is still mentioned in certain Memories, or if it got censored into [Unknown] by the Spell, or is regarded as cryptic lore piece, just as the names and mentions of the long gone Daemons and the Gods.
Wouldn't they need to flip the boat upside-down to realign with the river's flow in the Möbius strip? It happened when they ejected out from the whirlpool, so why not this time?
[...] if "neither" of them knew the solution, the intelligent person would solve it faster.
Bravo! Молодец! Suveränt! The way so many foreshadowed (but at the time seemingly random) details came together is amazing. It makes me wonder just how far ahead G3 is with the storyline in his head in order to weave the chapters in the arcs up so smoothly to connect all these dots... probably why he can keep such a great release track record too if the built-up advance pool of chapters is very large. Either case, I'm blown away. Truly impressive and great storytelling.
Matt opening the aspect floodgates of the disease and going mad, forgetting about the Rubik's cube and how to operate a phone, yet feeling compelled to try contact Claire and let her know that he loves her is worthy of the [romance] tag IMO. ... and if she's unassumingly pregnant, perhaps that's the foreshadowed Wraith savior --> and sequel story?
Since it's a Nightmare (a simulation of events by the Spell to evaluate one's ability to change Fate), and not the real River of Time in the real Tomb of Ariel... So, I guess it would be unlikely that Effie's baby will be a Riverborn - or beholden to the simulation. The baby comes from outside, so it wouldn't make sense for it to be considered part of the simulated world and vanish at the future conclusion when the rest transcend to Saints.
Didn't they discuss it? And because Sunny (currently) has the most fighting power amongst the three, they opted for him to be fresh and topped up as they were going into Wild Flower completely blind? ... Besides, Neph likely has a larger total reserve of essence as a Terror, and if fueling the ship's flight drains essence faster than even the Crown of Twilight refills Sunny's pool, then he might still not have enough to have been a better choice than Neph first time around. Going out, however,
Like Dire Fang... (v2.0)
You mix up the events. They returned to Shipwreck Island (so Sunny could feed the remains of the Sun Prince to Scavy), it was released ~3 months ago and after the Fall of Falcon Scott and prior to the Battle of Black Skull. It's a toss up if it was sudden and prior unheard of motion sickness in Effie from flying on the Chain Breaker ship, or if she's pregnant (mostly because these kind of mentions are classic plot device clues for pregnancy --> but perhaps G3 is more insidious and innovative). Either case, I was thinking that a River-born child left behind could connect with the foreshadowing dream Sunny had of Weaver talking to Ariel and 'the truth' that had to be left behind and forgotten (esp assuming that Kai is connected to Ariel by their truth seeing). Let's see what happens.
I think the indications came during the return/vacation chapters when everyone went back to the chained isles. She wasn't hungry (for once), was occasionally nauseous, perhaps even teased/accused for gaining weight... I don't know if timelines truly add up, but it could.
!!! Actually (and I can't afford privilege chapters, so keep answers spoiler-free), but isn't it implied that Effie is pregnant (potentially with Kai)?If so, and she comes to term within this Nightmare inside the Pyramid on the River of Time... would the baby turn River-born?Would Effie (and Kai) even want the Nightmare to end and return if the potential child couldn't follow. Can babies even be born within a Nightmare? Do would the babe be a forced contender for Transcendence as sleepers?
