when could you literally threaten a politician at knife point with 60k people watching unless this purge is a world wide thing but the thing he is threated to do is a purge that can kill anyone which suggest they cant do that now and unless I'm wrong cant presidents only sign laws by the parliament /congress

just saying how did it take so long to get 14 homeless killed like did they let a man drive in a car with blood all over it like nobody thought to call the cops.

why would you give them a reason to not be loyal and the hostages are useless when your dead.
The mansion had hundreds of guards protecting the president. However, the president didn't trust anyone. He was afraid that the guards might come to kill him on the purge night, so he chose twelve guards and took their families as hostages. He threatened the guard that he would have their families killed if they tried to do anything to him.
