I really like the premise of this story. I’m adjusting to the pace. My issue is with your editor. They need to go back through every chapter or you should get an editor that speaks English fluently. There are mistakes that mess with the flow of the story as well as numerous grammatical errors. I am enjoying this book but fixing it would make this a great piece.

No, although the tense is challenging, the author is correct. Loose would not work in that sentence.

He wanted to run his hands through her hair, hold her tight, kiss every inch of that honey scented skin. Exactly! She was gjven marital advice from her maids but she ignores it. If she attrmpted to communicate more openly then things would go better. They did not train her well to be a political wife, it seems.

Picking “up” one...
Picking one of the books I started to read but my thoughts wondered to Lucian. What was he doing now? Was he dancing with Klara at the party? Shutting the book angrily I put it aside. It wasn't keeping me interested enough to forget about Lucian.
