yes and no detonating a nuclear warhead with conventional explosives wouldn't cause the warhead to detonate. it still needs the process of the nuclear fusion to happen inside which it won't with an outside source explosive. now yes the nuclear material inside would spread and make the current small area nuclear but not as bad as it actually detonating.
