2 Overprotective Family.

*Ring*

A chime echoed throughout the house, signaling that dinner was ready.

Isaac left his room and started walking down the long corridors.

Descending the stairs until he reached the first floor took some time, but he didn't rush.

Isaac entered the dining room and saw six figures sitting. Steaming plates were piled high on the table.

''Isaac.'' Isabella gently smiled and pointed at the empty seat beside her.

Isaac sat down next to her and glanced at the other individuals sitting around the table.

In the main seat of the table was a man with short brown hair, grey eyes, and handsome facial features. He was wearing his usual business suit, which made him look both dignified and intimidating. He was Isaac's father, Maxwell.

A young man with slightly longer brown hair and sharp eyebrows sat on the other side of the table. He had a lean body that lacked muscle. He was rather ordinary, apart from a few unique features. Particularly his ear piercings made him look completely unique. This was Isaac's big brother, Marvin.

Next to Marvin, a young boy of around eleven was swinging his feet cheerfully. He had short black hair to go along with his many adorable features. His blue eyes were scanning every piece of food on the table hungrily. He was Isaac's younger brother, Mark.

Next to Mark sat a beautiful young woman. She had long brown hair, blue eyes, and a curvaceous body. She was Isaac's older sister, Sophia.

Sitting beside Isaac was another beautiful young woman around the age of sixteen. She had long black hair, delicate-looking eyebrows, and smooth-looking skin.

Her body was petite, aside from her decent-sized breasts. This young woman's defining features were her soft-looking lips and cute pointed nose. She was Isaac's younger sister, Alice.

On Isaac's other side, his mother was sitting. Isabella had beautiful black hair, blue eyes, and a lovely face. Her long legs led up to her perfect hourglass figure, and she didn't look any worse after having so many children. She could easily pass for a young woman in her twenties.

This was the Whitelock family.

They all placed their hands in a praying posture.

Maxwell opened his mouth, ''Goddess of Snow. Thank you for blessing this meal.''

After the simple prayer, they picked up their forks and knives and started enjoying their dinner.

Maxwell put a piece of steak in his mouth and chewed slowly.

''How was school?'' Maxwell asked.

''Fine,'' Marvin answered.

''I made new friends!'' Mark cheerfully said.

''Fine,'' Sophia answered.

''It was alright...'' Alice said quietly.

''...'' Isaac was quiet.

Maxwell nodded and turned his gaze towards Isaac, ''Isaac, what have you been up to today?''

''I went for a walk today,'' Isaac answered.

Maxwell put his fork and knife on the plate— he wiped his mouth with a napkin, ''Why did you do that?''

Isabella sighed.

Alice looked toward Isaac with worry and concern, her face slightly paled.

''It was only a simple walk...'' Isaac sighed and replied.

Alice grabbed his hand, ''Don't go alone, ever again!''

''That was very reckless.'' Maxwell agreed. He looked with gentle eyes towards Isaac, ''Tell me when you want to go for a walk. I will get bodyguards for you.''

Isaac sighed again and nodded.

Isabella then changed the conversation topic, ''Isaac bought VR Helmet— apparently, he is planning to play White Online.''

Maxwell was surprised, ''Really?''

Isaac nodded, ''I wanted to try.''

Maxwell smiled, ''My company has invested in White Online as well.''

''Really?'' Isaac was surprised.

Isabella wasn't surprised— she already knew how much White Online would impact the world in the future.

Maxwell frowned slightly and kept eating in silence.

Isaac was about to continue eating but noticed his hand was trapped by Alice's.

''Alice...'' Isaac whispered.

Alice turned her adorable yet beautiful face towards Isaac, ''Yes, brother?'' She whispered quietly— only Isaac could hear her.

''Can I get my hand back?'' He whispered in reply.

Alice used her thumb to feel Isaac's soft skin before reluctantly taking her hand back.

Isaac smiled wryly, a bit embarrassed at how protective the others were over him. He tried to ignore it and started concentrating on his dinner.

Mark ate quickly, stuffing as much food as possible into his mouth.

Marvin and Sophia ate slowly, neither saying a word.

Isaac emptied his plate quickly before he stood up and said, ''Thanks for dinner.''

''Are you sure you ate enough?'' Isabella curiously asked.

Isaac nodded, ''I did, mom.''

Maxwell then spoke up, ''Isaac, have you decided on your class in the game yet?''

Isaac shook his head, ''I haven't learned anything about the game yet.''

Maxwell replied seriously, ''Choose wisely.''

Isaac nodded and left the dining hall, wondering why his father would be so concerned with a game.

Shortly after, he arrived in his room again.

He grabbed his laptop, which was the newest model available.

Isaac sat on his bed and leaned his back against the wall.

After turning on his laptop, he quickly visited White Online's official website.

Isaac scrolled down and used his mouse to click [Class]

[Fighter; Swordsman - Knight - Brawler - Thief - Assassin]

[Shooter; Marksman - Gunner - Hitman - Archer - Hunter]

[Support; Medic - Healer - Potion Master - Poison Master - Priest]

[Mixed; Paladin - Spellcaster - Trap Master - Trickster - Dark Priest]

[Reminder: There are Hidden Classes, but they aren't necessarily stronger!]

''Fighter... Shooter... Support... Mixed...'' Isaac read through the website, trying to find the descriptions of every Class, but he couldn't find any.

A separate forum was also located on the website, which was currently bustling.

The top three most viewed forums were from players who were apparently ''Beta Testers.''

Isaac read through those forums with curiosity.

He was greatly disappointed.

The Beta Testers only said how amazing the game looked but didn't say a word about the gameplay.

Obviously, they were hiding any critical information.

Isaac left the forums and scrolled through the rest of the website with interest.

Then, he came across a fascinating article.

[Legacies]

Isaac clicked it out of curiosity.

[You need to find a Legacy to be a professional in White Online! There are thousands of Legacies, and each of them makes you dozens of times stronger! But there are, of course, different strengths amongst the Legacies.]

[No Legacy; No one has a Legacy Rank at the start, which means you haven't inherited anyone's will or techniques.]

[Ordinary Legacy; A Legacy left behind by an unrecognized figure. It is still more powerful than not having a Legacy.]

[Special Legacy; The Legacy of a well-known figure, it can be a historical figure or a figure from a fairytale.]

[Mythical Legacy; The Legacy of Legendary figure! It can be a historical figure who is very well known, or it can be a very unique existence that may not have lived at all!]

[Godly Legacy; A Legacy of the Gods! It is the most powerful type of Legacy. If you find one, you are destined to soar to the skies! You will be the Incarnation of the God of your Legacy!]

Isaac wasn't very interested in Legacies; it was mainly for the players who wanted to go pro.

Isaac closed the laptop and put it back on his desk.

He looked toward the window and watched the sun disappear from the sky.

*Knock* *Knock*

Isaac heard knocking from the door, ''Come in.''

The door was opened by his father, Maxwell.

''Dad?''

Maxwell nodded, ''Are you busy?''

Isaac shook his head, ''I Just finished reading about the Classes and Legacies of White Online.''

Maxwell nodded and sat down on his bed, ''Son, are you planning to play White Online casually or seriously?''

Isaac scratched his head, ''I am probably going to get bored of it, to be honest.''

Maxwell looked at him, ''If you don't get bored, what then?''

''I will keep playing, I guess...'' Isaac said, ''Why are you asking me?''

''The world... It won't be the same after White Online's release... The Legacies are more than what they appear to be on the surface.''

Isaac looked confused, but his father didn't say anything else.

Maxwell patted Isaac's shoulder and left the room, leaving his son dazed and alone.

But just a few minutes later, another knock came.

''Come in,'' Isaac mumbled.

A beautiful young woman opened the door this time.

''Alice,'' Isaac said with a smile.

Alice smiled sweetly and sat down on his bed.

''You shouldn't have gone outside— I was worried.'' She pouted.

Isaac rolled his eyes, ''I am your big brother— I should be worried about you.''

Alice giggled and moved closer to Isaac, ''Worried... About what?'' She turned her beautiful blue eyes towards Isaac.

''About many things,'' Isaac sighed.

Alice pouted, ''That was not the right answer.''

Isaac chuckled and lay down on the bed.

Alice lay down as well and put her head on his shoulder.

''My friends talked about White Online today... Most of them plan to skip school to play it,'' Alice giggled.

''The game seems interesting,'' Isaac nodded.

Alice turned her head towards him, ''Be careful of the girls you meet, alright?''

Isaac smiled, ''Why?''

''They might trick you,'' She said softly, hopping off the bed and running toward the door.

Isaac scratched his cheek, ''I won't be tricked, you know me.''

Alice turned her head and showed her tongue, ''You are usually very dense!''

Isaac laughed and shook his head, ''In the past, maybe... But now I am more careful.''

Alice opened the door; she took one last glance at Isaac.

She pouted, 'You should have known that your best friend liked you... But because you didn't respond to her feelings... That incident happened.'

She didn't say this aloud as she closed the door behind her.

Isaac sighed and stared up at the ceiling.

He lay down on the bed in silence until his eyelids became heavy.

Shortly after, he drifted to sleep...
