Basically a hobo
Tbf the wanderlust and greed for power and freedom are things he would have discovered about himself even without having set foot in the cultivation world, especially with the disturbances that are going to happen.
Tbf the fact that the mc just so happens to be born in a period when several great events that occour every tens of thousands of years coincide is another cliche. I'm pointing it out just because author said they wanted to have as few cliches as they could.
Actually a sharp pain or even the shock of the moment are enough to take away enough blood to the brain to make your vision narrow and blurry and slow down your thought flow.
While it may seem another generic cheat xianxia where the mc will be a complete and utter moron while ranking up only thanks to his golden finger, it really is not. The cheat is definitely outrageous, but the constant pressure to improve, the progress made only after years (while still being fast, it has the same taste as cultivation without cheats) and the demonic elements that constantly surround the mc (plus the demonic cultivation and lore is rather original, even if obviously inspired) make it reasonable and Really interesting. Honestly it's the best demonic cultivation focused novel I have ever read (Birth of the demonic sword isn't so "demonic" compared to this one and Reverend Insanity is more focused on demonic character than on demonic techniques)
Heaven defying land trampling sea crossing mountains flipper genius has a system that only lets him advance when he reaches the end of his lifespan, but with 100% probability (I don't understand if the talent also comes from the system, but I think it is as it is compatible with it: if you can't reach the peak of the stage at the end of the lifespan then what?!). Because of that the novel is a mix of the slice of life cultivation trope and the cautious mc trope.
Writing a review because the great plot deserves an official review (with mine just 1 to go) I can't say it's novelty as it is the result of stitching various plots already known, but the end result is great. The story per se is good. The writing quality could definitely be better, but bearable (definitely not like some mtl) (I also think it improved?!).
