this story is a 5/5. it starts slow enough to teach you about the world and set expectations yet moves fast enough to keep your attention as things develop. if you're a fan of magic themed books and you haven't read this, you're missing out. The character development is quite literally some of the best out there and makes it easy to relate to the MC and side members as realistic emotions and responses (with good reasoning for anything that seems out of place) are some of the strong points of said character development. it quickly becomes one of those books that leaves you begging for more chapters once you're caught up.

side note, if she mixes her blood mist with drops of the blood of others on the battlefield, would she be able to recall it all to herself to heal, also absorbing all of the other blood in the process? like a war could be the next best way to gain a lootttttt of various stuff

controlling fire probably uses less essence than creating fire. why not have a manual start with the sword slashing things and making sparks? gives me colonel mustang vibes though
