It was a comforting thought, being able to turn these monstrous traits on and off at will, not because of any attachment I held to my humanity but due to the inevitability of interacting with other adventurers sooner or later. Suicidal? No. I was still on the very first floor of the dungeon, not even 100 meters away from the nearest stairs to the surface. Why though? It's not like he can't gain those skills as well eventually. It's just a matter of priority.

Nah, this ain't the skill. This is just him feeling his soul. As for the Hunger, it's more of a reflexion of his inner self than something external.

There is lighting in the upper floors of the dungeon and having better smell wouldn't improve combat ability and prevent him from getting shanked by a War Shadow in case it "somehow" ascended to the upper floors.

Nah, why would they need to kill monsters if that was the case? I'm pretty sure Hestia would have gave Bell all the energy she could if that's how it worked. My working theory is that the falna's helps contain the energy absorbed from the dungeon, molding it into skills and developmental Abilities.
It looked identical to the last time I saw it, except for the extra point in endurance. It was clearly due to my effort in climbing out of the dungeon, and it proved that I could gain excelia through simple physical exercises, if with massively reduced efficiency.
