I wasn't even holding it too tightly. I guess it was just that scared of me. Its green skin turning paler and paler must have been an overreaction on its part. It wasn't enough to eat part of a monster's flesh to absorb its essence, as shown by the fact that the Hunger only started working the moment EVERYTHING had been consumed. I didn't really know what to make of this since I clearly remembered my name from my previous life. The fog was not strong enough to make me forget core memories like that, so maybe this Name represented something else.
