With that being said, Im still going to continue reading merely because of the fact that this MC is the best at bullshitting his way through life the most. Its simply an art.

Im at ch 400 and its gotten pretty messy at this point of his ascension to the immortal world. It was great at the start but everything changed after he got that mark from heaven. He became scared of picking up treasures because he doesn't want to be killed in the lightning tribulation, so he just lets go of all the treasures he comes across which is a waste because wtf is the point of the system then?Next, even after 400 chapters, his power is extremely low. This is the first time Im seeing an MC whose power is literally on par with the small fries and doesn't dominate his cultivation realm. He can defeat people on the same cultivation realm (cant be higher than 1 minor realm) barely. His greatest strength which is the divine sense is so useless because everyone in the upper world has divine sense protecting treasures so at this point, MC is pretty much just an average cultivator who is extremely afraid of picking up treasures, the system is useless, and the only thing salvaging this novel is the fact that MC is street smart.

Ch 1-500ish was great, addicting, and amazing to read. However all tension was lost at nearly ch 600 because he became too OP and MC does his best to hide his strength from everyone. Completely different from the rest of the story. He has saved everyone multiple times but no one knows about it, idk what the author is thinking but the massive change is a painful read, I'm skimming through most of it now.

I truly could not hate MC more in ch.1. But with this line, he has proven himself to atleast have the right attitude. Now it boils down to how committed he is to this goal and how ruthless he can be. I hope he doesn’t become like a typical soft-hearted japanese mc after spouting this kind of arrogance.

This novel had a lot of potential and words cant express how disappointed I am at this novel because of how high my expectations of it was. The first 700 or so chapters were so good that I rated it as god tier in my heart, but after that was simply a mess. Why? Because the main character disguises himself for the next few hundreds of chapters never revealing himself, I read the next 200 chapters hoping somehow it will change but nope, nothing. I was still hoping that the next 200 will somehow change so I skipped 2 hundred chapters and guess what? The mc was still in his disguise, never using his real name nor appearance, all the glory he has acquired has gone to waste because no one knows who he truly is except for his close friends. I got fed up, but still because of how good the first 700 chapters were, I was reluctant to give up. I went to the wiki of Jiang Chen and looked at his aliases, guess what? It seems that those first 400 hundred chapters where he used his disguise were simply the beginning because he has tons more other names he will use in the future in which I’m assuming are more of his disguises. I didnt even bother going past 400 chapters because of how frustrated I am but I assume its still going on after that. Hence I’m dropping this novel where the first 700 chapters were god tier but quickly became one of the most painful to read novels I’ve seen. Sovereign Of the Three Realms? More like Coward Of the Three Realms. I truly regret wasting my time with this and I hope this serves as a warning for those who are intending to read this novel.

A lot of people may not like Goose Five because of hIs stupid endings and because some parts of his stories seem unplanned. But Goose Five is still one of my favorite online novel authors due to the fact that he has amazing control over the readers’ emotions. Especially in this novel, the way the characters interact with each other, the way how the MC is always being low-key then sometimes becomes the brightest star in the universe. It’s simply unlike any other authors, I’ve read MW and TMW just before this and I can really see the difference, I would say that those two have a more “complicated plot” than Immortal Mortal but what I don’t like about those 2 is that the author is not good in controlling the emotions of the readers, sometimes it becomes very nice to read because the author will follow a usual trend and sometimes it becomes very boring when the author breaks that trend. An example is when the MC is high key 90% of the story and you get used to it and expect more of it, but the next moment he becomes veery low key breaking that trend and then the author makes you wait a long ass time before he becomes very high key again for a short moment, its suddenly the opposite of what the author already made you love about the novel. This novel follows the same formula throughout the story which is a very good thing. the author never makes the reader suffer for deviating from what made you love the story in the first place. Most authors focus on the beginning and ending but Goose Five focuses on the journey itself, the day to day interactions, the relationships between the characters, and in my opinion that is the most important element so that the story never becomes boring.
