I saw a lot of things about this kind of plot like: Anime/manga/Manhwa/Manhua/Novel/fanfiction...etc. Base on my experience, This Mc don't need to apologize to his sister is a big BS. Still i will change my mind if there a reason (It's depends what is it, but if is about being quirkless. Your apology is not needed for a trash).

I do believe mother will look after the weak son/daughter than strong one. We'll some parents maybe different though.
My mom loves Izumi and me, but you can tell she likes Izumi more, who has a Pyromancer quirk, a combination of mom's weak telekinesis and our dad's fire breath will. I have nothing but smarts, I guess. What an unfair world I live in.
