The kid who was gonna try and incite a coup? How many people do you think would have died from such an action taking place?
I understand what you’re saying, but Im just point out that Harkon does understand the implications of what he’s potentially doing. He just really doesnt care about what Calanthe will do. In his eyes, she is a queen whos kingdom is going down the toilet soon. He’d much rather have a good relationship with Ciri than to worry about what Calanthe will do.
1. Yes they were talking about it. He asked her what she wanted to do and he pointed out that eloping wouldn’t be a good idea. Harkon obviously doesn’t want to marry a little girl like Ciri as she is now, but marrying her does have certain benefits. Obviously the best one being the fact that she’s the heir of the Nilfgaard empire. 2. Yes she would grow up a bit differently, but he’s not overwriting her personality. 3. He is going to do something about Nilfgaard, he’s just not going to face their armies in open battle. He is going to help Cintra in his own way. If I tell you what’s going to happen after the monster hunt, it’s going to ruin the story. 4. No, she actually 100% agreed with it. Ciri and Hjalmar ‘fell in love’ after Ciri helped nurse Hjalmar back to health. she was 10-11 and he was 15 at the time. Ciri and Hjalmar got engaged on their own without their parents consent. Calanthe and Crach later abolished the engagement. She didn’t want to get married to a man called Kistrin, the prince of Verden, she ran away from that particular engagement and entered Brokilon forest.
He also doesn’t care about ‘Calanthe’s trust’. She is the ruler of a kingdom that is going to be destroyed in a short while. She only sees him as Mousesacks apprentice that had a few good ideas one time. He doesn’t plan to spend the rest of his life in Cintra. He was only there to get started on magic, not to start a revolution to defeat Nilfgaard.
It’s good that someone noticed that. keep note of it for later, it will be important later on down the line.
