One of the poorly written novels with lazy, low-effort writing. When the author wanted the main character to have an enemy, an antagonist pops out of nowhere and becomes his arch-nemesis without any development or proper reason. It seems that the author is too lazy to think of a valid reason to make someone the MC's enemy, so he rely on typical low-grade Chinese young master drama to make it happen. . 0/10. If you're not going to put effort into your novel, why bother writing it in the first place? It's a waste of both your time and mine.
Bad writing overall. The main character was initially introduced as an anti-social teenager, but a few chapters later, he underwent a drastic transformation into an extremely compassionate individual who could empathize and shed tears for the misfortunes of others. This change seemed to occur suddenly, lacking proper development. Moreover, he also adopted a self-righteous demeanor, firmly believing that his actions were right while condemning the actions of others. Secondly, this is the type of novel that incorporates excessive "speech" and "preaching" into the story, showcasing one of the less favorable aspects of Japanese writing style. Frequently, the main character delivers impromptu speeches in the midst of a battle randomly without rhyme or reason. Thirdly, there is an issue with the improper use of the first-person point of view. The writer appears to handle the third-person point of view proficiently, but for some unknown reason, he randomly introduce and misuse the first-person point of view in the story. Regardless of which point of view is used, there is no discernible difference in storytelling within this novel, making the shifts in point of view seem unnecessary and redundant.
Oh man, I was worried about spoilers, so I avoided reading any comments before diving into this novel. I thought it would be another one of those fun stories where the main character goes to a different world, but it turned out to be a terrible choice. I got really frustrated by the time I reached chapter 22 and kept saying to myself, "This is not what I signed up for!" So, I started skimming through the chapters, and when I got to chapter 60, the main character still hadn't been transported to another world, and the story was still all about China. That's when I completely lost hope for this novel.
