the problem is that items can't stack, think how annoying/difficult minecraft would be if items could not stack...
Everyone's inventory had limits up to x999 items only regardless if it was a repetitive item. It was not stackable. Like for example, Ren's loot just now took a total of x12 space in his inventory. - MooseMax1yrCommented

the world is incredibly detailed qt the start with all the small hits about it, I have high hopes for this novel since several others I have read just throws waay too much Information and details on you and it messes up the pacing
