there was slightly above average amount of nationalism you expect from most Chinese novels, character design was a lacking but the world background and story kept it together, or at least it was keeping it together, however the story had a hyper rushed ending ruined the world background and story development which was where it fell. initially I was going to give the story a 4 but they hyper rushed the ending, rushed it to the point I had to give the story a 1 star review.
suddenly vanishing without warning is sadly all too common on webnovel, RR and GitHub. I don't even bother reading some stories till it looks like they are gonna stick with it because authors keep abandoning their projects. sometimes Ill binge to the latest, then wait 6 months, and find out it hasn't been updated in 4 months. I now make a habit of checking the authors profile, if I find 3 book that were abandoned I will library it and just wait to see if it gets dropped. if it doesn't get updated then I will just remove it and save myself the sadness of missing a story I may have liked.
as someone who likes to binge novels, I like to wait for 1-200 chapters to be released before catching back up, and as I had stopped at 365 I was like "ok, wait a bit and come back" then I see it hadn't updated for a year and was confused. so imagine my surprise to learn that no it wasn't dropped, it was much worse, what could have gone on till at minimum chapter 500 and at most 650 was cut all the way down to 430. hate seeing what was initially a very good story be axed down to a instant out of nowhere finale
decent time killer. went in expecting the worst but it was a pretty chill read. character design is a bit bland, and kind of cliché, but the story doesn't revolve around different characters personalities so you can mostly ignore it. also zero romance, not even the tiniest fraction. most plot points are tied up around the end, or more like they become irrelevant, but aren't ended badly as to leave you upset, more like an afterthought. we also get a simple and sufficient answer to his cheat ability at the end of the novel that doesn't make you confused as fk so that point alone deserves an A+. anyways, personally I say give it a shot, after about 40-50 chapters you should get a general feel for the story so you will know if you want to drop or not. it wont get you emotional, won't leave you confused and the only real negative is the lack of non generic character design. that's my take on it at least.
Love what happened to that cheating s***. literally the thing I hate the most in the world is a cheater, yet so many people fall for it like that poor guard. I'm talking for both genders as well, not just a woman who cheats. if a friend cheated on their lover I would stop being friends with them over it. Thank you for finishing that extra bit instead of leaving it as a background thing that is forgotten
does sophia end up with nero/zeus or does he forgive her for whatever reason? Personally I cant stand betryal/cheating, and when it happens I always hope that it ends with the traitor/cheater ending up in a situation where they end up similar to how miserable lan yunyue felt in martial world.
