foreword is that I am really enjoying the story and have been following since it's release, but on the topic of friction and wheels, it's a bit more complicated than just reducing it to make it easier to move. generally the goal of a wheel is to change the point where friction reduces speed from the ground to a spot of lower surface area that can be lubricated, in most cases the axel. this means that reducing friction on rails is not going to be helpful, and in the case of self propelled locomotion actively stops the vehicle from changing it's speed, car breaks don't work on ice well for a reason. either way it's a fun story but slight details like that stand out to me and it never hurts to know more about how and why things work
while I like the idea of him being bad at formations, they way it's portrayed is not the best. it would be far more impactful and smooth to go in depth in how he's making them as he makes it, and then having it collapse at the end, without telling the reader about how bad he is outright. not only does this immerse the reader more but it also cuts out the repetition that is present in the current draft.
