Why would I pity her she brought this on her self.
Yeah, I thought I was losing my mind, cause pretty sure that never happened.
When, because I don't remember that.
Exactly and both parties knew he wasn't strong enough and thus no threat. Zerefs the perfect enemy to show you just how strong your foes can be with no actually harm to you but seeing as Irene had already served that purpose this was unnecessary.
Not saying it wasn't scary just that objectively speaking the level of danger for him and the nearby members of fairy tail were low compared to his other encounters and this is something he knows, being a self-insert and all. having the capacity do something isn't scary nearly as scary as having the will to do it.
That makes no sense at all. He had already met Irene Belserion who is insane and was actively considering killing him compared to Zeref who actually isn't all evil and just wants to die, so sure while one is stronger than the other the amount of danger, he was in was progressively worse with Ezra's mother. Meaning he shouldn't be all "Oh no time to double down on training because the world just gave me a wakeup call!" he had already had that check yourself moment way in the past so this really serves no purpose and is thus redundant.
This is the Hight of redundance, the MC was already well aware he was weak and needed strength, have of the characters he's already met have helped prove this, there was no real point to have Zeref come flex on him like this.
Thats a lie or you wouldn't have even ended up in this situation.
