Really feel like chinese culture messed up the relationships script from my westerner's pov. 1 : Sworn brothers -> 2 : Get to know the other person. Should be the other way around. Maybe that's why there are so many "sworn brother betrayal" tropes in chinese novels.
I'm sure the villagers understand that building a personal stable for his horse and his morning hour long stroll were more important. But it's good that he realized, character development, hopefully.
Maybe it's a cultural thing and I'm not used to it, but all these conversations feel so unatural and fake to me, like everybody is acting and following an "over the top" politness script but in the wrong order, with the sworn brother-sister part taking the first step 2 minutes after meeting the person. Makes me quite uncomfortable even as just an external reader.

note to self : Just ignore what was said earlier about sentry seeing everything a thousand meters around the camp... just disconnect your brain, ignore it, and try to enjoy the story...
yeah... and since the team hid 3km away from the raiders' camp (stated earlier in chapter) then that mean it actually took this horse 2 hours to reach here... Just gonna unplug my brain and see this as the usual cultural tradition of chinese authors pulling random numbers out of their hats for their stories.
A bit different from what I'd expect of an emperor rank "great general" with potential decades of experiences in war, strategy, and leading troops with his historical counterpart being described as fond of reading millitary books. But hey, how are you supposed to make your mc look smart if you don't make his best subject want to rush head down and forget his main abilities...
Maybe it's just me but I always found this "didn't act arrogant" description to be translated in my mind as "I'm acting as a caring person" meaning you "act" and have to take steps out of your regular personality in order to appear that way, and expecting to receive benefits from it in the future, meaning there may be some underlying issue in your personality... But maybe it's just me thinking too much about an innocent wording...
Dude is starting to get sligthly too proud of himself, "me being near you and telling you to try the game is your good fortune, too bad you missed it" ... Bro, did you even hear her saying 2 sec ago that she can't buy it either way even if she wanted to play ?
spearmanship... start with a broadsword... fake and real technique... 3 best systems to collect... This whole part of the chapter felt like author slapped many half finished ideas together trying to create / explain this part of the game system, or it's a translation issue. Either way my brain is hurting.
Good lord what an info dump, so soon in the second chapter, with an almost 4th wall breaking feeling, like the author is using the mc's internal monologue to forcefully give those informations to the reader. Would have been much better if these informations were given bit by bit across several chapters in a less immersion-breaking way during related story event requiring said informations to be given, like the infos about mc's mother given naturally through a dialogue between two characters. Also, just my opinion, but I think informations about the world, the kingdom, background story, etc would have been more interesting at such an early point of the story than stuff like lifespan, cultivation realm details, flying ability, etc.
Bro "Big Balls" dug a hole. Pinacle war tactics no matter the time period.
Yes, you have the soul of a chinese old man so you obviously cannot enjoy western culture, your dream and goal is gain western money and fame using said western culture and inventions, but you're not interested in anything else and will keep this china numbawan mentallity forever, we get it, no need to repeat it every two chapters with that condescending tone.
Who's the fool really, the ones trying to run away from unknown alien things who caused deadly accident all over the city with their light show and thus can be first judged as somewhat unfriendly, in the hope to increase their (and maybe their relatives / friends) survival even if by only 0.001% ? Or the guy standing there like a retar... rational person who gave u... analyzed that it's useless and judge the people who run as fools ? Maybe I'm the one in the wrong and it's only a perspective thing, but it gives me a somewhat snobbish attitude from the mc here, hope I'm wrong.
2 years late but not really sure about that. in 1970 there were only 40 cities in France with more than 100k inhabitants and in only increased to 44 cities in 2020, 50 years later. And that's including oversea France. so even if we go yet again 60 years in the future for this story's ww3 and push that number to 60ish cities, casualty rate would be at worst around 1/3. But this is a story in a kinda dystopian future so anything can go.
Wasn't it stated he reached 20 fold in previous chapters ?
And they even dared to act cheap by putting alarm traps trying to prevent you from stealing. Truly the most magnanimous man to ever exist.
Yeah... Don't worry, nobody beside the grand master saw through your fake "perfect & admirable" mask to witness your true personality, and he only revealed it to some senior elders... no worries.
Yours Truly, obviously
