CHAPTER 1

' Shit! I'm getting late for the work. I gotta go fast.'he said and rushed towards the exit door packing all his belongings in a hurry.

"Hey Kwan! Where are you going? We were supposed to have a bubbletea after the classes. Come!". It was Drake, Kwan's bestfriend who was with him since primary school.

"Aa-,oh. I have to go to work so i'll catch up with you guys later." Kwan said and left in a hurry.

~Foi cafe~

"Where were you ? It's almost evening. Customers are almost waiting too long for their orders, i was to manage everything on my own. Go get changed quickly." Aun shouts while juggling 4 orders together.

"I'm sorry Aun! I had an extra class today so i got late. I'll just change quickly and come". Kwan said when he saw Aun who is a full time worker at the cafe and a year senior friend to him.

Kwan went to their changing room, got changed and came to help Aun while serving the customers. Everything was going smooth until few men enters the cafe. These people were giving that weird, shady vibe the moment they entered.

'Oh no it's Them. They're back again.' Kwan notices them and his face goes all pale and he started sweating all over.

"Hey you! Over there! Come here! Can't you see you have customers!" one among those men called for a server pointing mainly towards Kwan. Kwan became pale and moved towards them.

" Yes sir! I'm really sorry. What would you like to order?" Kwan struggled really hard putting that fake smile on his face while being all scared and traumatized from the flashbacks he's been having of those men.

~flashback to the time when Kwan was struggling to get admission in the university he's studying now~

'How am i supposed to give the fees. I got the admission through scholarship but how am i supposed to pay the admission and security fees! Aren't that what's uni should help me pay! cafe salary is also not enough. I barely manage with my living with that.' lost in his deep thoughts, Kwan was standing with an order tray in his hands. Paan, the cafe owner was observing Kwan since quite long, so he called for him.

"Kwan! Kwan! KWAN!"

"Uh-oo, yes.. P'Paan."

"What are you thinking? The customer is waiting for their order, why are you standing here with the tray? Go serve it to them"

"O-oh yes, yes, i'm so sorry. I'll just go quickly."

After that, Paan noticed that Kwan had been acting strange since morning. So he decided to have a talk with him and ask him if he could help him. As Kwan had no one to look after him, Paan was like his guardian and he really liked Kwan like his younger brother.

Later that evening after the work,

"Kwan! Come here." Paan called Kwan from his back office.

"Yes! P'Paan! Did you call me?"

"Yes N'Kwan , come sit here. Now tell me what's the matter? I've been watching you since morning, you've been acting really strange. I felt like something's going on in your mind. Tell me what's wrong. What are you worried about?"

"Well P'Paan..the thing is..actually..as you know, i got the scholarship for my university admission. The uni is supposed to pay my fees each semester with the grades that i bring but they said i will have to pay the admission and the security deposit.. It wouldn't have been such a big problem if it was somewhere else but this is 'H UNIVERSITY' it cost a lot of money to go to this prestigious uni and i understand they have rich students… but… but… i don't know how to manage all these. I don't have that much money with me. I don't know what should i do now.."

"Oh! i see…. That is a big problem..Now I know you won't take my money if i offer you and with this small scale business , i can only give you the salary of a part-timer and some bonus….but you don't worry, i think i know how to solve this problem of yours. I know few guys who can give you some loan.They are my family- friend. They give jobs or loans to people in need and their return time and interest policy is good, i have seen it. They can help you for sure, here take this. This is their address. Just tell them i've sent you and i will also give them a call now.. Don't worry they know me well, You will get your money."

"Thank you so much P'Paan..I don't know how to thank you enough.." Kwan said with a teary eye. ' I'm so lucky to have P'Paan with me.'
