Chapter 127: Megumi reslove

Inside a store, the resounding sound of a grandfather clock ticking echoed through the air. It stood proudly behind a pristine glass window, its hands gracefully ticking away, until suddenly, a screeching sound pierced through the air followed by shattering glass, a rogue nail had slammed through the glass window, destorying the clock.

The hands of the clock fell towards the ground and as soon as the hands collided with the floor. A loud grunt rippled through the air, right outside, an exhausted Haruta snapped his head up watching Nue swoop down from the sky with a trail of lightning following its wings. Quick on his feet, Haruta raised his blade blocking Nue's razor-sharp claws.

Sparks flew off Haruta's sword, as he gritted his teeth trying to fend off Nue's intense strength, but his resilience wouldn't last long, as Nue yanked the sword out of Haruta's hand sending him stumbling back. 

Nue flew high into the sky tightly holding onto the sword, as Haruto regained his balance, he stared at the flying Nue annoyed, and was about to control his sword, until suddenly, Nobara emerged behind him, swiftly swinging her hammer at Haruta's skull. Delivering a powerful blow to Haruta's temple, creating a massive bloody gash.

Blood poured down Haruta as he raised his guard blocking a spinning kick from Nobara, the force of the kick sent Haruta sliding back until he slid to a stop and spoke. 

" Good. Good! I was growing bored of killing those weak men in black suits, I finally get to kill a pretty woman like yourself- "

*Crash*

Before Haruta could finish his deranged rant, the store's glass windows behind him, shattered as thousands of white rabbits stormed towards him in a massive horde. Haruta stared at the incoming rabbits in shock, until he slid his feet apart and threw a punch at an airborne rabbit however, to Haruta's surprise the rabbit elegantly somersaulted over his punch and slammed both of its hind legs into his nose.

Haruta's head was flung back until his right hand flickered and he grabbed onto the rabbit ears, swinging it at another airborne rabbit which violently collided destroying both rabbits. Being quickly overwhelmed Haruta dashed back trying to regain his composure until in the corner of his eye, he saw a rabbit falling towards him holding onto the sharpened hands of a clock. 

Haruta felt a sharp pain ripple through his shoulder, as both clock hands pierced into his shoulder, he gritted his teeth annoyed until he swung his head forward headbutting the rabbit, sending it tumbling off his shoulder. But surprisingly, the rabbit didn't show any signs of pain instead, it just grinned mischievously. Haruta was taken aback by this grin, his confusion evident in his gaze. Until his eyes widened, noticing Megumi directly under him, before Haruta could react, Megumi effortlessly did a handstand, pushing off the ground, slamming a powerful kick into Haruta's stomach propelling him high into the air.

Crimson blood poured out Haruta's mouth, while his eyes darted around trying to find a way to regain the upper hand but before he could, a sudden gust swept down onto him, making him look up into the sky. Just in time to see Nue swoop down from the air, pointing Haruta's own blade at him, about to pierce into his body. The blade inched closer and closer, and right when it was about to penetrate into Haruta's back, the sword gained life, and twirled severing Nue's claws and causing it to shriek in agony.

The abruptly sharp pain, caused Nue to miss the floating Haruta. Instead, Nue slammed into a nearby building making a thunderous bang ripple out. Haruta let out a deranged chuckle, as he was about to grab onto his rapidly descending blade. 

" HAHA, thank you for giving me my blade back, you damn idiot! " 

The blade fell closer, and closer, until a small object, sliced through the sky, and slammed into the disgusting hilt of Haruta's blade, sticking the hilt onto a nearby wall. Haruta stared at the nail in his sword hilt until purple tongues, suddenly wrapped around his limbs, making his heart sink. 

He glanced down at frogs with wings, until he grinned and spoke to Nobara as she swung her hammer directly at his nose. 

" H-Hey I-I'm sorry- "

Haruta's sentence was abruptly cut short as the hammer mercilessly collided with his nose, breaking his nose, as vibrant black lighting spewed off Nobara's hammer. The impact of the hit sent Haruta's body hurling backward, crashing through the store and causing several shelves to collapse on his mangled body. 

The several shikigamis, instantly faded away. As Megumi and Nobara stood next to each other, Megumi's face was covered in sweat, not because of Haruta. Instead, it was because of the battle inside of Dagon's domain. Nobara glanced over at Megumi before she asked a question. 

" Hey? Are you alright? You look like you're about to pass out. "

" Y-Yea, I'm fine. I just need to regain my breath. But what are we going to do about Yuji? Sukuna is running rampant right now, and if we don't get him under control, the higher-ups will surely order his execution. "

" I'm going to go find him. You stay here and regain your breath. I'm going to go help Yuji, it wouldn't be right if I didn't. "

Megumi looked at Nobara confused, and was about to ask a question, until she suddenly started to sprint away, making Megumi close his mouth, Megumi was going to ask Nobara how she planned on helping Yuji. But decided not to last second, after all, there was nothing he could do to stop her.

Megumi watched as Nobara got farther and farther away. He eventually lost sight of her, as she turned a corner. Megumi stared at this corner before he let out a grin and was to inhale until a sudden sharp pain engulfed his lower back, as blood spewed out his mouth. Megumi glanced back and saw Haruta grinning at him wildly holding onto his sword...

As Megumi was surprised by Haruta suddenly getting back up, Nobara sprinted oblivious to Megumi's dire state, but even if she knew about his state, that shouldn't be the thing she should be concerned about. Instead, she should worry about what is directly in front of her. 

Nobara's eyes widened, as she halted to a stop, and glared at the figure in front of her, the figure was covered in dried blood..
