The Charity Event

After a week:

Our NGO organized the charity event for which we prepared in the vacations. This is the annual Event of our NGO, so it is organized on a grand level.

The event involves several competitions for kids like Dance, Singing, Drawing, and acting. There were approx 150 children who participated in these events. Andy, me and Shriti get ready for the event. A bus was booked for the whole team to reach the avenue. I wore a decent Kurti and no make up for the event. We click some photos together before going to the bus.

Most of the boys from our team have already gone to the venue to do some preparation.

I took a seat in the bus and the bus went to the village first to pick up some students. The children started singing songs in the bus, they were enjoying our company. Seeing their happy faces was a great pleasure. After picking up the students, the Bus went to the venue directly.

The venue was in the main city. It was a big hall with some rooms.

As soon as I enter there, I saw Stephen playing with the children.

He has a huge smile on his face while interacting with those children. He is wearing a green t-shirt and blue jeans, a black shrug and black sunglasses are complimenting his look. He is not too tall but his height is enough to attract anyone.

Some girls from the village take us inside the hall. The team leader held a small meeting and divided our duties. Our team size is approx 50, and the children here are more than 150, so we have to take care of them.

Soon the event started and we take our positions.

The drawing competition starts first, We distributed colors and drawing sheet to all the children.

" Listen, Children, The topic is: save Environment. You have 45 minutes to draw and color your imagination. And the time start now", The Drawing Competition organizer announced.

An Organizer is assigned to every competition. Mostly the super seniors ( final year students ) are in charge of the competitions. We are helping them as interns. Although final year students are the most senior among us, they are treating us like younger brothers and sisters.

After 45 minutes, we collected the sheets from the children. We provided them some snacks for refreshment. After that singing and dance competition started. Those little cuties were performing adorably. Their cute performances brought smiles on everyone's faces.

There was a short play organized by our college's famous group. Nitika and Perry were part of this group. So they also came to perform the play.

During the play, we cheered for them. We were so happy for them. They played their part well in the play. With the play, the event comes to end. After lunch, we distributed medals and certificates among all the children. We distributed medals not only to the winners but also to all the children. We don't want to hurt any child's feelings.

Unexpectedly, two girls didn't get any medals. We already brought extra medals with us but the number of children present was more than the registered number. So we lacked two medals. Those girls became sad and started to cry. We tried to console them but they were not easy to handle. Suddenly, An Idea came into my mind. I opened my bag and bring the mirror and bracelet out from my bag (It was my favorite mirror, it had a Barbie doll design in the back which was too cute). I gave the mirror and bracelets to those girls. Those small stuffs replaced the sadness with an adorable smile on their faces. I was so happy to see them smiling.

After dropping the children into the village we went back to college.
