Result is out

The next day, we attended lectures usually. In the lunchtime, we went to the hostel mess. While we were having our lunch, we heard a beep sound. Our mobile vibrated together, as we all received a message. All of us opened the message, it was from our class group.

"The first-year result is out", someone messaged.

"Check your result here...." other person sent a link.

And the whole group started to chat. " Nyan, you topped the class", Nyan's friend messaged.

After reading these messages, we saw each other's faces. Our faces were blank due to the sudden shock.

" Lets.. Let's check the result ", Shriya replied.

There were lots of congratulation messages for Nyan in the group. We ignored the messages and opened the link.

We opened the link and downloaded the result.

My hands were trembling due to the nervousness. I opened the pdf and saw the result.

"You got 70%", Nitika shouted.

"umm" I went silent and looked at other's results.

"Nitika 65%, Perry 73%, Shriya 72%, Shriti 69%", We shouted together.

"Let's check Andy and Deera's Result too", I said.

"Deera 68% and Andy 67%", Perry replied.

" The maximum marks are of Nyan's - 78% ", Nitika said.

After that, there was silence for 5 minutes.

" Yaaay, we all passed with good marks ", Nitika said excitedly.

" yes ", all of them shouted together. But I was not that happy after watching my marks. As I was a topper in the school, I always dreamed of scoring the highest marks in the college too. So this was not what I expected. I smiled in front of them but inside I was sad.

After having our lunch we went back to our room. As the result was out, our whole class planned to bunk the last lecture of today.

Deera was sitting inside the room, She was also checking the marks.

"Congratulations roomie! we passed with good marks", She said.

"Uhh, You too", I replied.

"What happened?", She asked.

"Actually, I was expecting more", I replied.

"Oh, It's ok. Work hard next time", She said.

"Hmm", I replied.

Both of us lay down in our bed. Deera slept early. I was still thinking about the marks.

after some time, I went to sleep too.

In the evening, I was sitting on my bed and checking the result again.

Suddenly, a message arrived.

"Hello, Myra", Stephon typed.

"Hi", I replied.

"Congratulations, you scored good marks", he said.

"Oh, thanks, you too", I replied.

( I had checked his marks too. he scored 60% marks. In mathematics, he passed by one extra marks only. )

" Are you not happy ", he asked.

"No, Actually I was expecting more", I replied.

"Ohh, It's ok Myra. You will score well next time", he replied.

"Hmm, I know. But I don't know, I am not able to stop thinking about that", I said.

"Ok, you'll be fine in some time.", He replied.

"Hmm", I replied.

"Myra, I need your help", He said.

"Ok, tell me what is it?", I replied.

"Actually, I am not good in mathematics. Can you teach me Maths II? So that I get good marks this time. Andy told me that you are good in Mathematics. ", Stephon said.

"Yes, you really need it", I thought.

"Okay, I'll teach you", I replied.

"Great! thanks, Myra", he exclaimed.

"No Problem!", I replied.

"When can you teach me?", he asked.

"Tomorrow, at 3 pm, after the lectures.", I replied.

"Okay, done. I'll be there in the library", he said.

"Okay", I replied.

After that, I went to Perry's room. Shriya, Shriti, and Nitika were already there. "Come, Myra, we were waiting for you", Andy said.

"Oh, What you guys are doing", I said.

"Hehehe! We are comparing the marks of Nyan and Puneet", Perry replied.

( Puneet and Nyan are competitors from the very start of our class. Both of them are good in academics. Sometimes, they even argue in the class over study." )

"Oh, that", I replied.

"Yes, It's very interesting. See Puneet got 77.8% marks and Nyan got 78%. And Puneet got more marks in externals than Nyan, If he had scored well in the internals too, he would be the topper.", Nitika replied.

"I think, from now on, your classroom will become a battlefield for them. Hahaha", Andy said sarcastically.

"Yes, it will be fun", Nitika replied.

"Everyone, please wear your Safety Armor tomorrow", I said and we all laughed together.

I have to say these girls can make anyone happy. There cheered up my mood very easily. I just love them. These are my lifelines.
