Parents - Part 2

Gus and his dad are located on the roofs of the house, they are fixing the roofs because a strong hail that hit this area destroyed most of this roof. But, yesterday he got some help at repairing this roof, and that help was from their teenager neighbor who is working as a handy-man, just to buy a cold beer and drink it together with his future wife who is living with a redneck Father. But this time, Gus is going to help his father, finish this roof, and then then they are going back to their business, the next day.

When the father put a piece of the new roof he bought yesterday on the missing space, he asked his son if he can give him some hammer and nails. Gus gave that hammer and nails to his father, and he proceeds to beat those nails into that part. After he finished the little missing spae, his Father asks his son a question.

"How is your job, son?"

"Is going great," says Gus who did not expect that his father was asking about the job, right in this dangerous moment, sure they are equipped, but you never knew when someone will fall and he will break his entire back on the pavement.

"I am proud of you... You have a great job as an office worker and you get a salary pretty big."

"Y-Yeah. I do." says his son who was lying all of this time to his own father that he works somewhere in an office with a friendly co-worker, but this lie is also true.

"Are you going to get married?"

"Dad, please," says Gus who has heard this question a zillion times already since he left their house and moved into the big city where he works secretly as a game-tester. "I will be when I will find it."

"Are you sure? Cause I heard Elizabeth it is recently single."

"Elizabeth is not single. It never has been. She is just sleeping with a man on a night and then she jumps at another man."

"How do you know it if it is true? Arent you a mind reader or something?!"

"No, dad. But her profile always has a new boyfriend's picture with her." tried Gus to show it to him, but those two being on the roof, he decided to sighed and tell his father. "Don't worry, father. One day you will have, but do not rush things. And right now we have something much more important than grandchildren."

Those two have ended their talk and continued to work on their roof. The only time when they were talking was when the father asks him to give him nails from his belt, and give to him roof pieces.

Three hours later, the roof is completely fixed, and at that time, Gus work. Now he has only one thing to do, and that is to stay overnight at their parent's home, and then leave their house and head to his one.

He enters his ex-room, and he checked his phone, which was left in a drawer. When he opens the phone, he realizes he got a message from his friend, Brandon, who has bought his first mobile phone and he got this number from Gus's nice neighbor, Mr. Willy. The message was: "Hello, Gus! I know you are probably busy, but I wanted to tell you something. I love the job and the house you have bought for me, and giving me that enormous amount of money, and I really wanted to repay you somehow. Do you want to go sometimes to a bar to drink? Whenever you are not busy. Thanks.". Gus replied to this message by saying that everything it is fine and he doesn't have to spend all of that money already. He also said that it is a good idea to go to a bar, sometimes when he and he got a free time.

After he writes and sends that message by using his mobile phone who was bought from a store second-hand in terms of electronics. Then, he puts the phone in his pants pocket and he is heading to the kitchen where the dinner is served by their parents.

At dinner, Gus is sitting on a wooden chair, while his parents are sitting on the metal ones. That wooden chair was probably used for other things instead because this table has only two chairs who are matching the design and the furniture. Then, when the father was digging into a soup made especially by his mother, he asks his son.

"Do you have friends in your city?"

"I do," he says feeling quite awkward to tell him that because he hasn't heard this question since he was in elementary school.

"Good for you. And... what else happens in your city?"

"Well, everything normal. I wake up, go to work, come back home, do dinner, and sleep. Just a normal day in the city."

"Great to hear it." says his mother who is really round that their son is having a good life in the city. "Anyway, did you realize that Fred has a son?"

"Fred?" he asks. "This is new? I never thought that man would be up to have a child... He always told our class, back in elementary school that he is never going to have a child nor getting married.". After he says that, he drinks a little natural juice which was taken from a general store by his mother, and after he drinks, he continues to eat that soup. "Anyway, have-"

"Breaking news!" says a journalist from the TV, who is turned on by his father who wanted to see the news and located three meters from them. "A source from the company InTecU circulates online as if someone were starting to work on a pre-destined project to stop the wars in the real world and keep them in the virtual environment."

At this moment, Gus was close to drowning with a piece of chicken that was not well chewed, but after a few coughs, which scared his parents, he recovers immediately and listens carefully to what the reporter has to say in this announcement involving the company where Gus work.

"The source has told on a social media that "The Government is working on a big project with a video game to create wars which will be fought in a virtual world.". And that was all he was written, and he also showed some pictures, which made Gus feeling scared that someone had the guts to do some pictures of the game he is working on secret and had the balls to even publish those photos on social media. But thankfully, the picture just showed part of the world, and not an animal who is only seen in real-world, weapons from the game, players like him or any other known person to Gus, just mountains and a few houses on fire (maybe a few fireball monsters were escaping from the cells and decided to ruin that city).

Reporter was not feeling enthusiastic about this news because he thought htta this one might be a fake like the other ones. But Gus, was about to sweat in front of family who was feeling worried from him. They were about to ask their son what is happening, but he told them that everything is alright.

"The Developers and the players must find that source immediately. The game it is not finished yet and a rush product will make some major problems in the future."
