Obsession

Looking at the countless treasures in front of her, a smile appeared on Meng Lin's face.

"What three treasures should I take," mumbled Meng Lin as silently thought giving up getting any treasure, and only obtaining an extremely large amount of spiritual stones.

Just as she wanted to go through with her plans, suddenly, a small jade slip appeared in her eyes.

"The Mountains and Seas art?" mumbled Meng Lin as she wondered how useful this technique was to her as she suddenly wanted to take it, only based on her intuition

"The Mountains and Seas art, she really managed to find one of the best treasures in this mountain," thought the artifact spirit before beginning to talk.

"This art is worth three normal treasures," said the artifact spirit, causing a smile to appear on Meng Lin's face.

"Since it's so valuable and my intuition also wanted me to take, I will take the risk," thought Meng Lin as she picked up the small jade slip.

As soon as Meng Lin did so, she found herself in an inconspicuous place in the outside world.

Mere moments after Meng Lin found herself in a forest in the outside word she sent her spiritual sense in the Mountains and Seas art.

"I need to find a good place to practice," mumbled Meng Lin as she, for some reason, found this formation method very much to her liking.

Immediately after that, Meng Lin began traversing the forest, and as she went through the forest, she would leave behind small formations that she created in her practice.

As a few months passed, Meng Lin found the reason she was inexplicably attracted to the Mountains and Seas art, it seemed that her talent for formations was really quite great.

With her discovery of her talent, time began passing at a rapid pace, as Meng Lin found herself more and more enamoured with formations.

One months later,

Looking at the small dropof blood on her finger, a smile appeared on Meng Lin's face.

"I can now be called a Second Grade Formations Master," mumbled Meng Lin before dismantling the attacking formation she had created.

Meng Lin did not want to waste any materials for making formations, as unlike First Grade formations, which with her current skill she could now create them using mortal materials, Secon Grade Formations were much more expensive to make.

Of course, Meng Lin's talent, along with her cautious nature and the fact that she dismantled everything valuable, ensured that she did lose many spiritual stones.

After this, time continues to pass at a rapid pace.

Even though she had become a Second Grade Formation Master, Meng Lin was not in any hurry to master Second Grade formations, the first thing she did was use her new perspective and beginning to practice making First Grad formations once again.

...

"This is really too ingenious," mumbled Meng Lin as she looked at the most basic Energy Gathering Formation with a crazed smile on her face.

In only three months, Meng Lin scoured through all but one of the First Grade Formations, and with her talent, she her foundational skills in formations skyrocketed.

But for the next three months, Meng Lin was obsessed with a single formation, the most Basic Energy Gathering Formation.

Right now, for the past few hours Meng Lin had stared at the formations she had created using normal stones without blinking even once.

Suddenly, Meng Lin moved one of the stones three inches to the left, while another two inches upwards.

"Good," mumbled Meng Lin as she felt the amount of spiritual energy gathered increase ever so slightly, a little over one and a half percent compared to before, do not think this one-and-a-half percent is small, rather it is the biggest single improvement Meng Lin had seen in the past month and a half.

"Two hundred and forty-seven percent more efficient than the normal formation," mumbled Meng Lin as she looked at her monstrosity which right now, was probably harder to create than most Second Grade Formations.

After this, Meng Lin did not focus her efforts on First Grade Formation any longer, rather going back to second-grade formation.

Three weeks later,

"Not know, I need to wait until I have mastered all the second-grade formations," mumbled Meng Lin as she looked at the several hundred second-grade formations she still had to create, as such, she managed to quell her impulse to make changes to them.

Meng Lin did not dare look at the Second Grade Energy Gathering formation, as she feared she would waste her time while her skills were not there yet.

With her extremely solid foundational skills, Meng Lin breezed through Second Grade formations like butter, after three years o working on formations, she managed to decrease the time required for her to master a normal formation to under a week.

Eight Years later,

As Meng Lin was fully focused on mastering her next formation, suddenly, a large amount of natural energy began pouring in her body, but even so, she did not care, not taking her attention off the formations.

The natural energy, after some time, began transforming into Qi inside of Meng Lin's body and began recreating it, destroying and repairing it.

Even though this should have distracted Meng Lin from the formation, it seemed to have incensed her even more.

Suddenly, Meng Lin stopped for a moment before spontaneously beginning to create the formation she was just mastering.

And under her crazy state, Meng Lin managed to do it in under thirty minutes.

Suddenly, Meng Lin let out a strike at the formation, causing it to shake but not be destroyed.

"Second Grade Defensive Formation mastered, three days," mumbled Meng Lin as the transformation of her body slowly stopped.

"I really made a mess," mumbled Meng Lin as she looked at the destroyed landscape around her, after she said that, Meng Lin began rapidly and skillfully dismantling the formation before continuing on her way.
