Unexpected Monster!

Leon stretched and began to make breakfast before setting out. He only ate baked Horn Rabbit this time. It wasn't much of a breakfast, but it was better than nothing.

"The Scout crow found something good. I knew it would be the right choice to allow the crow to scout the forest."

Leon's specific orders were to follow a Goblin to see if it would lead it to the [Goblin Caster]. What Leon saw from the eyes of the crow was a cave system of some sort. The Goblin that the crow was trailing had gone into this cave.

"It would seem that Goblins go in and out of this cave often. This could be their lair, no, it is likely their lair."

Leon sighed because the cave was dark and he couldn't see in the dark. He knew his best bet would be to copy a Goblins Innate skill, Night Vision.

Even if he could detect lifeforms and traps with his skills; they were all active skills. They would require him to use mana each time. Leon's mana pool was too small to activate these skills continuously.

"Why can't I upgrade my mana with attribute points? Could it be that the only way to widen my mana pool is through elixirs?"

Leon didn't like this? If something was too good, it would be in high demand. This meant it would be terrifyingly expensive.

Leon recalled the elixirs from the shop. He was sure they cost the most points compared to other types of items.

Leon could only practice the art of reserving mana and using it wisely.

"I don't want to waste time, so I need to enter that cave to investigate. First of all, I need to capture a Goblin and copy his [Night Vision] Innate skill."

Leon saw that his mana was full and both his White Knights were still on standby. They would only go away once he recalled them or they were destroyed.

"Hmm, I have other options for summons. I can summon 3 types of Golems at my current rank, but it would never ascend to E-rank."

Leon knew his [White Knights] and [Golems] couldn't go any higher. They would remain in the F- to F+ rank as their limit. This was because he needed [Photokenesis] and [Terrakenesis] to go further beyond.

"I can summon a Rock Golem, Dirt Golem, and Mud Golem for the time being. Once I increase my rank to E-rank I should get a new Golem to unlock."

Leon also knew that this applied to the White Knights as well, but he wondered what they would be.

"It's too soon to think about this now. I don't even have Terrakinesis or Photokinesis to level them up this level. Furthermore, I just got into this dungeon, so I better think about beating it first."

Leon set out immediately with his White knights to the location of this cave. He made sure to pack food because this jungle was bigger than he thought.

"I really want to work out to get in shape, but I need to beat this dungeon. I really wish I was more dedicated to getting fit before all of this."

Leon sighed as he followed both his White knights through the jungle. Every now and then, Leon would use his search and detect skill.

Leon surprisingly found some bear traps the deeper he went into the jungle. This wasn't a good sign for him.

Leon used his [Observation] skill and found that some of these traps were laced with poison.

"Judging from the description, the poison was created by the Goblin Caster. However, the other Goblins were the ones that placed them."

Leon thought that they may have become aware of him. Why would they poison traps to capture food and poison the meat?

"I can't continue to use my skills like this so I'll have the White Knight walk in front of me." Leon didn't want to step on any traps, this would devastate him.

The upside of this was—his [Detect] and [Search] skills were leveling up. Leon ran into a few Goblins on his way, no, there were more than usual.

They were now in groups of 5 to 7 this time around. Leon understood that things would get worse as the days passed. He had also managed to successfully copy the Night Vision skill.

Leon understood from the start he couldn't see the card options of transcendent entities. At least when it came to Auriel, he couldn't see the card he drew from her. So, for now, it was just an assumption, but Leon felt it was right.

"I have to defeat this [Goblin Caster] quickly!" Before going to the mysterious cave, Leon went toward the river he discovered yesterday.

It took Leon some time to reach this river since this wasn't his original destination. The river wasn't deep—just reaching at height Leon's kneecaps.

"This river seems to be teeming with fish." The river was filled with different types of fish from what Leon could observe.

"There are no monstrous fish here, which is good. If there, it would have told me about this possible encounter." The information from the paper was accurate and wouldn't lie to him.

Leon caught much fish with the help of his White knights. They were fast, but not as fast as his White knights.

"Dinner comes first before all." Leon smiled strangely.

Gigigi!

Right as Leon was talking to himself, a group of Goblins emerge from the forest. Their expressions were gruesome and sinister. There were a total of 5 of them with one [Goblin Basher] as the leader.

Once they caught sight of Leon, they rushed him with murderous intent. Leon waved his hand and order his knights to fight and kill.

His strength and speed were not high, but these were his next stats to invest in.

Gigigi!

Goblins were the brightest and were unfortunately cut down. They gave their last bit shrill before dying at the hands of the knights. Leon didn't level up, but he was sure he received EXP.

Leon stored the bodies before fishing again.

"Hmm, what is that?" Suddenly, Leon noticed a shadow that was big and colorful. It was clearly a fish from this river.

Leon had checked every fish's status he had encountered and they were nothing special.

"White knight! Capture it!" Leon didn't even need to think about it.

The knights moved, but the Rainbow Scaled Bass moved faster. It turned around and book it downstream at incredible speeds—leaving ripples surging through the water.

"What?!" Leon was shocked. It moved so fast, it was the fastest he had ever seen anything move in his life!

The White knights were standing there looking dumbfounded about what to do.

"Forget it." Leon could only give up for the time being. The Bass was too fast and it had long disappeared from Leon's sight.

'I'll definitely be back to capture a few of those fish. I want to eat it!' By then, Leon would devise a plan to snare them.

Leon's next destination was the cave to investigate. He pulled out a bottle of water and continued on his way.

As Leon was walking through the forest, he suddenly heard a roar approaching his location. Leon was momentarily stunned before quickly hiding in a bush close by.

Leon could feel the ground shaking slightly, just how many of them were there? He began to sweat with worry, when suddenly—a great number of Goblins wielding Clubs.

The Clubs seemed more refined and of better quality than what the previous Goblins were holding. In this group were nothing but Goblin Bashers marching forward.

That's when Leon saw it. This Goblin stood around 5'6 in height, which was much taller than any of the Goblins.

Leon was shocked at the scene before him. Why was a Hobgoblin here? There was nothing on the list that stated that there was a Hobgoblin.

The Hobgoblin carried a Rusted Sword, but since it was rusted it did D.O.T damage. Seeing its Innate skills, Leon covered his mouth in order to not utter a sound.

Leon wasn't confident he could fight something like this yet. Well, he wanted to prepare before confronting it.

Leon simply couldn't understand why something like this was here, it had completely ruined his mood. He kept quiet until the Hobgoblin and his army were gone, but despite that Leon still stayed for a little while longer.

"A Hobgoblin at level 5? Yeah right!" The deities clearly suppressed these monsters for this trial. Lest they would have higher levels and greater strength—making them impossible to deal with.

"The boss of this area will no doubt be at level 5. I need to level myself and reach level 5 to have a chance." Leon decided to postpone going to the cave, but he was most confused about this Hobgoblin.

However, Leon had his crow follow this Hobgoblin and his small army. Leon wanted to drop by the village for a bit to ask some questions.

Leon arrived and opened the door where Myron was naturally standing behind the counter.

"Oh, you're back so soon, do you need something?" Myron grinned as his eyebrows rose.
