World Isekai Reborn- Tale of a Reluctant Savior

Author update!!!!! Still working on the next few chapters please be patient. Warning this is considered a first draft "I will be posting this story on RoyalRoad.com," https://www.royalroad.com/profile/331825 Trigger warning this is a dark fantasy novel recommended for 16+. Murder, R*pe (will be implied but not described), likely slavery, and much more dark themes (it will not be shown in a positive light, that would be stupid), but this world is not a happy one, and the characters will be put through the wringer. Morals will be tested. Ideologies threatened. Shit gets real :). Author out! So while at first, it seems that I am making something full of tropes using the isekai and monster invasion through portals subgenre. I plan to use these motifs as a backdrop and break some troupes and hope to Supersede the tropes of the genre as Overlord did for its genre. Synopsis So the worlds are merging, and they need to get stronger, Or at least that's what the robotic voice said. All she knows is they were given a couple of minutes to choose a class; if they didn't select one, it would be randomly assigned. Shortly after the countdown, portals worldwide opened, and hundreds of millions died in less than 30 minutes. The world suddenly seems quieter and more dangerous than ever. And this was just the beginning. Our story follows Trish, a raven-haired girl who is a senior in high school who always finishes her assignments in minutes so she can sleep in class. During the selection process, While everyone else in the class was freaking out and or picking their class, she was promptly asleep. When she finally woke up, she found out what was going on. She was a glitch, classless. Though She does Have a few unique things about her; for ex, she has all nonreligious elemental magics, a skill called “hard work” where she can repeatedly do actions to gain skills that are related to said action ex jumping 1000x and getting a skill for 2x to jump height, etc. And a title called “ not the one,” which has zero information. She also has a seemingly ordinary skill called “menu,” which allows her to see a video game-like display of people's statistics. This skill is highly temperamental and a constant source of annoyance for Trish.

Chapter 3 I'm falling for you

'I've made a mistake ' was going through Trish's mind as she fell from at least 150 feet in the air towards the massive green, almost mahogany-looking trees below.

She only fell 10ft before hitting tree branches and twigs, breaking her descent and snapping every branch along the way. She reached her hand out to try to grab a sturdy bough on her way down, only for it to break instantly and for her to continue falling.

After falling and smashing into the ground next to a tree with a massive branch just out of reach, she was shell-shocked, her mind fog of adrenaline.

She attempts to reach out her right arm to grab ahold of the drooping branch to pull herself up. Her arm never moved. She started to feel a burning sensation that was increasing in intensity till it crescendoed into a blazing pain like a thousand fire ant bites. She finally glanced at her arm only to realize it looked extremely misshapen, like a backward L.

The adrenaline seemingly wore off when she saw her arm's state. A sudden scream filled with pain and suffering could be heard, only to realize it was her as she ran out of breath just a few seconds later.

Her fingers started slipping one by one. 'no, no, no, no, oh, for the love of all that is fucked!' another scream escaped her lips as she fell the remaining 30 feet toward the ground.

Tears streamed down her face as she cursed loudly from the pain of trying to stand. Lifting herself to just one knee, an almost herculean task stood before her.

"Momo, please, are you out there" what she meant to yell, as she had never yelled before, came out as a husky whisper.

'I wanted to save her, yet what can I do? Even though now that I have magic, I'm still hoping that she will save me like always. Nothing has changed. I need to find her.' trying to shake off her pity, wiping her tears and snot away with her unbroken hand.

Pushing herself to her limits, she managed to stand on both feet. Broken branches were all around her on the purple-looking grass about 2ft tall. Grabbing a sturdy one that was about a foot taller than her. She could barely raise her strength enough to grab ahold of a branch to use as a crutch.

Moving forward slowly toward the direction that she felt the pull. Trish just knew it meant Momo was in that direction.

Two hours later, her stomach rumbled, and sweat dripped off her skin like she was back home in the Oklahoma summer with its heat and humidity.

Just as she was stumbling past another tree, she came upon a small rabbit-like creature coming out of a hole inside the bottom of the tree. 'After that last fight, I can not underestimate anything anymore.'

The trauma from her last fight is still prevalent in her thoughts. Deciding to inspect was a guarantee at this point. 'Do you seriously wish to inspect that?' the voice in her head asked. 'Yes,' she replied mentally.

'It's a normal rabbit with a tiny horn.' her skill said in an annoyed tone.

"What the actual fuck" she said in a stunned whisper.

'You asked me to identify a rabbit, and you dare to be upset with my response,' The voice decreed, dripping with annoyance.

Shaking her head, she pointed at the rabbit Minor Frigus. Not wanting to destroy the carcass she was going to eat. In less than half a second, it froze solid.

Hobbling over to it, she got to her knees to pick it up. Grabbing the creature, she then proceeded to look around for some sticks. After ten minutes, she gathered enough to make a small campfire. Using minor Ignis, she managed to light the wood on fire.

Putting the rabbit next to the fire to thaw. 'It's time to deal with this arm. I need to make a splint.' Carefully taking her Dress off, she rips up the bottom of her dress into long strips turning the long flowing dress more into a cocktail dress, next she snaps about 2 feet of her walking stick off and starts to bind her left arm.

Tears welled up in her eyes, nearly pressed shut, and her brows scrunched in agony. 'Come on, come on, I got this, breath, just breath' "FUCK!!" The sharp, searing pain caused by over-tightening the wrap caused her to shout in agony. Tears were now flowing.

'I need to do this, or my arm will be useless.' doing her best to give herself the self-confidence to finish. Her breathing turned ragged after only 20 min of sheer agony, finally finishing.

Just as she finished, the rabbit finally looked thawed enough to start Skinning it.

The bow and quiver that she has been carrying the whole time since Cedric died. Grabbing the jet-black bow in her hand with a bone-colored string.

It was still in perfect condition and had three arrows in the quiver. 'How did this not break in that fall?' She stared at the bow, brung up complicated emotions.

A blue screen appeared just before her asking her to inspect the bow. She sighed heavily and clicked yes.

Choking up, she took an arrow and brutally and amateurishly dressed the horned rabbit. Stabbing the rabbit with a stick and now started cooking it.

In about half an hour, it was finally done. The smell of cooked meat wafting from the rabbit made her mouth water. Tired of waiting, she tore into it, barely even able to taste anything as she was done in less than a minute.

Feeling a little better finally, with a belly full of meat. She stood up, doused the flames, and started limping toward the direction she was going before the short pit stop.

'I wasted too much time again. I still feel the pull towards her, but I have no clue how far away it is or why I know that's where she is. I need to keep moving. She could be hurt.'

An hour passed, just limping forward, and she saw no other creatures and no sign of people, just tree after tree after tree. A very sudden noise broke the monotony.

It was a thunderous guttural bone-shaking roar seemingly coming from all directions. The trees shook, and leaves fell like hail from a thunderstorm.
