Requiem of a Nightmare

While Markus's body slept in the shelter he called his "Home", his mind was a different story entirely as war raged like the wild waves of a stormy sea.

Markus opens his eyes and sees his body in front of him, a clean white and burgundy mechanical form with piercing yellow eyes, staring him down.

"You have been quite busy, haven't you "Skinbag," the cyborg said with a cold monotone voice befitting a machine, "using MY body with such clunky movements, it's a wonder you haven't died yet with all that's happened.

I looked around, hoping to find some familiar area only to be met with a dark void once again, only this time, there is no God with me.

"You better look at me when I'm talking to you, you useless Skinbag!" the cyborg yelled, with ferocity he didn't know it had.

As the machine in front of Marcus calmed itself, it took a good look at Marcus's true body, a little overweight but overall slim with raggedy brown hair and hazel irises, no heavy muscle mass, a body that has never truly done a full pushup, and if you asked him to do Saitama's training routine, he would say "Fuck no."

"A bit out of shape, and with horrible reflexes, no fight or flight, just freeze, but I'll have to make due, but before that, I'll do a test on him to see if he has the will to continue."

As the cyborg was coming up with a plan, Markus was thinking "WHAT IS HE DOING HERE?" Marcus thought with a tinge of fear for the robot in front of him, he knew who was in front of him now, as he just had taken over his body, it was a character from the game apex legends, a game which he loved to play the most, more specifically it was the character revenant, his personal favorite to play.

what puzzled him was why he was here as he believed that Revenant's mind would be replaced with his own, not that it would be with his own

as Marcus was lost in his thoughts, the robot spoke "Hey Skinbag, look at me." this startled Marcus who jumped, then looked to the cyborg now named Revenant who spoke again, "The names Revenant, and im going to test you, if you fail, you will be lost in a prison of memories but if you pass? we'll see, won't we?

"you'll have to find your dream in a sea of memories, wish ya luck Skinbag" and with that, he pushed Marcus into the void.

as Marcus woke back up, he found himself in a familiar place, "my house?" Marcus questioned while looking around, his searching was cut short by a pair of footsteps followed by a knock at his door.

as Marcus heard this, he got a bit frightened, wondering what was behind the door until he heard a voice, one that he was pretty familiar with, "Hey, you awake yet, you're gonna miss school if you keep this up" his father said.

"Dad?" Marcus wondered as he got up, hoping that what had just happened before was just a bad dream, but as he got up he remembered Revenant's words.

"A test huh? yeah right" Marcus thought as he brushed off the robot's warning and opened the door to see his father, though he looked about 22 years younger.

"Cmon Marcus get ready, we're about to head to the parade!" marcus's father said with a joyful grin that matched his large physique paired with his short black hair and mustache. (think of young Garps face)

"Okay dad!" as instead of Marcus, a 7 year old child runs through with short brownish-black hair, "Cmon dad, we gotta hurry!" said young Marcus, eager to go to the parade with his father.

And while all this happened, Revenant watched on, curious if Marcus could escape the "prison of the dreaming ruler".
