First year... gone by in a flash...

Just a year ago, I stood in awe of the massive castle, hoping to make precious. However, a year later, all I had were memories of blank papers and spell-crafting. It was just that I was confused. There is always a part of me that wishes to be in the company of people, but I hesitate at the last moment. That had always been the case.

Friendships and relationships all bring with them the burden of maintaining causality. If you are friends with someone, you share as much responsibility for maintaining that friendship as he or she does, just as a celebrity with a vast reputation must bear responsibility for maintaining that reputation.

I'd always been fearful of taking on such responsibilities, afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle it.

"Your head is plagued with wrackspurts," a lovely, dreamy voice said, bringing me back to the sorting ceremony in progress.

I turned to my right and saw a blonde girl looking at me. She had the prettiest pair of eyes I had ever seen.

"Your eyes... they're very beautiful," I couldn't stop myself from saying it out loud.

"Thank you," the blonde girl smiled and replied politely.

"By the way, what are wrackspurts?" I inquired, recalling what she had stated previously. "And what do you mean my head is infested with them?"

"Wrackspurt are small invisible creatures that floats into our ear and make our brain fuzzy and confused." she answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Oh, interesting," I became curious. "But how can you see them? You just said that they are invisible? Is there any spell for that?"

"I'd always been able to see them," She responded. "My father is capable as well. I'll ask my father if he knows of any spells that will allow others to see Wrackspurt."

"Hm, you do that. Maybe I will be able to see them too," I said.

"By the way, my name is Krynt Helder, and I'm a second-year Hogwarts student." I used the opportunity to introduce myself.

"My name is Luna Lovegood," with a beaming smile, she answered.

...

The second year was unremarkable. The classes were a little more difficult, with more homework, assignments, and actual spell applications — which I enjoyed, but that was it.

And Gilderoy Lockhart, our new Defence against Dark Arts professor, he was so bad that he made me miss our previous DADA professor, late Quirinus Quirrell.

Lockhart was a narcissist to the core. He reminded me of the adage that the loudest noise is made by empty containers. The majority of his book's content was filled with nothing but adulation for him. I wasn't sure whether the legends of his slaying werewolves, trolls, and other monsters were true. But one thing was certain: there was no cure for Lycanthropy, and the homomorphus spell was a ruse. I was surprised that no one had called him out on it.

'Perhaps I might build a spell to cure Lycanthropy,' I thought, pleased because if I could, my name would be immortalised.

'However, celebrity is a nightmare. I'll just post the spell under a pseudonym. However, I am the only one who can use the magic I create. I need to figure out how to make the spell accessible to others.' I came to a realisation and contemplated the solution. I was walking across the fields when I felt a little tap on the back of my shoulder.

"Hello, Krynt Helder," Luna's ethereal voice jolted me out of my reverie.

"What are you doing here, Luna?" I asked and then I noticed that she was barefoot. "I'm curious as to what happened to your sneakers. Why are you walking around barefoot?"

"I am pretty sure the Nargles took them," She said. "They are mischievousness thieves... Daddy probably knows how to keep them away."

She mumbled at the last sentence.

"Did the Nargles actually take your shoes?" I was sceptical. I had doubts about Nargles' existence, just as I had doubts about Wrackspurts' existence. I was duped at first; I assumed wrackspurts were real, but I couldn't locate any mention of the name in any of the library's volumes. No one, including the instructors, was aware of their existence.

Luna was a true oddity. Her statements were sometimes intelligent, but she seemed to be in her own universe at other times. And, what I enjoyed best about her was that she was never hesitant to speak her views. I admired her bravery in speaking her mind.

"Perhaps I can assist," I responded as I conjured up my wand from thin air. It was only feasible because of my abilities. My wand now has some handy features. I gave it the capacity to appear and vanish at my command. I'd never have to be concerned about it being stolen or misplaced.

I also made my wand indestructible and gave it the ability to amplify my magic power, which unfortunately I couldn't achieve under the 'Wizard class'. There seem to be something that was blocking me from changing some of the attributes of myself, like magical power, physical power and so on.

"Accio Luna Lovegood's school shoes." I uttered the spell. Actually I didn't need the spell. It was just a cover up to use the modified Accio spell. Nothing seemed to happen for the next few seconds. Luna looked at me with curious doe eyes.

"Just wait," as soon as I said it, I heard a "swoosh" noise coming from the skies.

"There," I said, pointing my wands upwards towards the incoming projectiles, and with my telekinetic spell-cum-ability, I halted them just as they were about to hit me.

"Your shoes." I handed the sneakers to her.

"Thank you."
