2. Private Time

Julius sat in his chair enjoying his cigar before he opened the letter that was placed in his desk. Slowly reading through the meticulously hand written letter that was left to him by his sister. Setting the letter aside as he smiled to himself as his office was slowly filled by cigar smoke.

He enjoyed the far and few moments he got to spend his time in relative peace. Due to how rare they tended to be, he was starting to believe they were in fact the act of god. Finishing off the cigar Julius sat up pulling his pocket watch out to check the time again.

While he had the time for peace within his household, he couldn't help but be mentally distressed. Due to all circumstances involved, The one thing that worried him the most was the thought of him, unwittingly starting a war between the two clans. That thought alone was enough to make him question his own sanity, for organizing something that could go south so quickly.

"How in the seven hells did I ever think this was a good idea.." Julius spoke to himself in an annoyed tone before he stood from his chair and walked to the window looking outside to the massive front yard of his home. Staring at the world in its natural calm state. Staring silently as the gears within his head began to move at full throttle and the thoughts of possible outcomes began to spread throughout his mind.

Shaking the thoughts out of his head he stood and began to pace about his office taking several long drags from his cigar before he put it out. He looked to the slick black phone that sat at his desk before grabbing it and dialing up.

Waiting for the call to go through he stood there nervously tapping his foot. Eventually the line was connected before he heard the familiar hum of a feminine voice on the other side.

"I will be arriving shortly. To take you up on your offer. Miss Jadamine Xeres" He said speaking into the phone.

"I am ever anticipating your arrival dear Julius. And I do hope you will hear out the wondrous offer I have to give you." Her voice sang from the other end of the line, before the line was suddenly cut.

Setting the phone down onto the receiver he let out a shaken breath. He loved the prospect of technology, but it was also something that made his nerves stand further more on end.

While he was still a younger vampire compared to most vampires who ruled the many other houses that existed throughout the world. He had an underlining respect for those that came before him, and for those who held any form of power in relevance to him.

And He held particular respect for the leaders who held a seat on the grand council. To Julius, Jadamine reaching out to him was one of the biggest surprises in his life, ever since he was given the position as head of his house.

Turning he dimmed the light in his office with the wave of his hand as he walked out of his office and to his personal quarters. Looking around the simple room he had with a bed in the middle of it a bathroom to relieve in, and a closet to hold his clothes. Walking to his closet he pulled out a change of clothes as he walked towards the bathroom to freshen up for the long night ahead of him.

Jadamine Xeres sat within her office of a room, that was full of trophies from a time of old, and trophies from times recent as she continued to hum happily, gently tapping her long finger nail on her desk. Which was made up off the bones of her late father and mother. A constant reminder of their legacy.

She sat back in her chair as she waited patiently for the arrival of the recently appointed head of the Morave household to arrive. Although she could have offered this chance to anyone of the many rival households that resided in the area, The Morave household had garnered the most respect with her own. And such a feat like that was rarely acheived.

Jadamine was drawn from her thought as there was a knock at her door that gained her attention. "Come in" She Sang as the door slowly opened and on the otherside of the door was her daughter. A beautiful young vampire who held vibrant blue eyes, and a head of long brown hair.

"Good evening mother" The girl spoke in a polite tone as she bowed slightly to her mother before straightening up. "Will the Morave house be joining us for dinner tonight?

"Yes he will be dearest Angelica, I would like you to prepare a roast chicken with a fine rice. And for the choice of drink, one of the Pinot Noir we have from the reserve. " Jadamine responded to her daughter as she leaned back in her chair.

"How do you think the others will react to the presence of a rival head in our house?" Angelica asked her mother the curiosity impossible to miss in her voice. And she couldn't blame her daughter for it either. Since she too was curious how the rest of her family would react. But that was to be found out soon enough.

"I do believe they would test his capabilities, before they would let him get close to me. I think it is a respect thing between men my dear daughter." Jadamine hummed in response with anticipation. "But until then, Let us make the preparations for his arrival, and make sure he feels welcomed within our home. If we are to make a pact that is to benefit both of our families, it should be in a comfortable situation don't you think?"

Angelica nodded in agreement as she thought about what it was her mother could want to propose to the Morave Head. But that would be something she would be experiencing first hand before the night was over.
