Chapter 3: Alliance formed

"So I ask you, are you, my master?" asked Sasaki as he stared me down, his sword pointed at me. "I am" I told him. "Well, that answers that I guess" he said as he sheathed his sword and began walking around the room, trying to get his bearings. "Well master, would you mind telling me your name?" asked Sasaki as we exited the basement into the house. I quickly brewed tea and poured him a cup as we sat down. "Well, my name is Iguro Kaname, and you are summoned to participate in the grail war as my servant" I told him as we sipped our tea. "Of course, but may I ask why you are participating in this war?" asked Sasaki. "For fun. I don't even really need to participate, but I did so for fun" I told him.

His eyes seemingly glazed over for a moment before he burst out into laughter. "Well, I did not expect that. Well, I will enjoy working for you" said Sasaki as we finished our tea. I lead Sasaki up to the attic and laid out a place for him to sleep. "You know we do not need to sleep right?" he asked me. "I know, but you are now my ward, so I will take care of you" I told him as I left to set up the bounded fields, I needed to protect my house. I went into the front yard and began to use my crest to call forth bounded fields crafted by my mother's family, modifying them as needed. This including a barrier to hide the presence of a servant and to strengthen the defensive capabilities among others. As I finished setting up, I saw Sasaki materialize next to me. "So, are we going to go spy on and fight other masters?" asked Sasaki, his katana ready for blood shed.

I shook my head no as I spoke to him "No we are going to a friend's house of mine". He looked at me surprised and said "Is that friend a master? Why are we going towards their base of operations?" he asked me. "Well, I want to forge an alliance with her" I told him as I looked at my watch. It neared about 1 o'clock. This means Rin was about to summon the counter guardian of annoyance. As I arrived outside her door, I heard a loud crash within the manor. Sasaki hastily raised his blade in preparation to fight, but I shake my head and he lowers his blade.

I heard shouting until I felt the use of a command seal, to which irritated shouting follows. I then take the opportunity to knock on the door. I felt the noises hush up, and I felt the shallow steps of someone approaching the door. The door clicks open and there is Rin Tohsaka, a little sweat on her forehead, indicative of her yelling with fervor. "Hey Rin" I said to her as her eyes widen in surprise, especially when she turned her head and her eyes landed on my servant. "So, you summoned your servant" she said. "Yep, is it okay if I come in?" I asked her. She opened the door and ushered us in. Her manor was just as I remembered. It had nostalgic memories imbedded within. It gave me comfort and peace. "So Rin, have you summoned your servant?" I asked her. To answer my question, she ordered her servant to materialize. The servant was as I remembered. White hair, tanned skin, red eyes, and wearing his distinctive red plain mystic code.

"So what class is he?" I asked her. "While I was trying to summon a saber, I got this archer instead with bad memory!" she screeched in an indignant fashion. Her servant seemed almost delighted that he caused her trouble. In fact, he looked downright cheerful with his widening smirk. "Hey Rin, let me show an ability of mine" I told her as she gave instant attention, intrigued by what this ability could be. I faced Archer and pointed at him. "Bow" I ordered to him, and he bows instantly without complaint or resistance, as if he followed it of his own will. Such was the nature of Absolute Command. Rin's eyes widened in surprise and instantly launched questions. "How did you do that? You don't have a command seal. How does that work?" she asked in a rapid pace which almost was unintelligible. "Rin you have to remember mage etiquette" I told her as she began to quiet down. "I know, I know" she said to me.

"So Rin, about that alliance, are you up to it?" I asked her again. She sat quietly, thinking it over and when she looked at me, her eyes and mouth had an answer. "I accept. If we use your power, we could clearly win this war" she said, hope shining on her face. "Well, let's considered this pact sealed" I told her as we shook hands. I released her servant, and he headed straight towards me. Rin screamed, trying to stop him before I uttered another word "Fall". As the word left my mouth his body fell towards the ground immediately, as all the buildup left nothing fulfilled. "Archer! He is offering an alliance with us, a person with the power to command other servants is something we can use!" she yelled at Archer, even though what Archer did was a response to an enemy holding his will hostage, which was fight.

I managed to calm down Rin with my reasoning and the servant reluctantly agreed to not attack me for the time being. "So, lets discuss the alliance. I will lend you my abilities and servant, as you will do also. We also cannot attack each other unless it comes down to that. If you want someone else to join us, we will talk it over to the other person alright?" I said to the duo sitting across from me.

"Yes, however I would like to add we must share resources as well," said Rin. "I can accept that, here is my first share of resources" I told her as I used my abilities to summon a massive amount of jewels for her to use in her mage craft, jewel craft, which falls along the school of the flow and transference of magical energy. This shocked the duo even further, and also shocked my servant as well. "So is it enough?" I asked Rin, who immediately dived into the pile of the jewels, rubbing her cheeks against the rubied and sapphires. "Of course, it's enough!" she shouted with joy, which I knew why. Her craft took up a lot of resources, and with this much she did not have to worry for a while about her resources. "So Archer, do you think this is a fair alliance?" I asked the counter guardian. "Well, I believe it is, and you fulfilled your deal on resources, so I think it is okay" said Archer as we shook hands on it. "Well Archer, here is a gift" I told him as I summoned bundles of different enchanted arrows that could cause explosions or inflict ice and fire. Archer took hold of this gift, and I could see him performing an analysis of the arrows, to which revealed their purpose.

He smiled and tucked these arrows away and we left, accomplishing our goals of forming an alliance with a friend of mine, building up our manpower for the future.
