'A way to upgrade a weapon?!' Rio stopped from his place and forgot that he's in the middle of an assassination. Fortunately, the remaining targets did not notice the disappearance of the individual.

'Shit! They're actually using a Weapon Upgrading system to make their participants kill each other!' As he thought of that, an item appeared inside his Dimensional Pouch. The item is a pitch-black metallic finger claw that suitable for reaping flesh. It has the appearance of an eagle's talons

The next item that appeared is a dimensional pouch that contains everything the person he killed has. However, Rio doesn't have time to check its contents as he leaped to another target.

A dimensional pouch is quite rare, so finding five out of twenty-one examinees is already a fortune. Unlike the dimensional pouch though, a personal weapon will appear on the hand of every examinee.

Most participants Rio killed had a humanoid appearance, so the weapon they possess is suitable for humanoid beings.

'Three left! Those midgets look like one with the strongest abilities within the ambushers.'

The three did not notice the disappearance of the twenty-plus people. They just stay hidden in the darkness confident that their group is well hidden, ready to attack once the target appeared.

All of a sudden, a glimmering flash appeared on the eyes of the two javelin-wielding lizard-like race representatives. The lizard-like person managed to lift his javelin to block the attack, but it was futile.

If anything happened when the individual, it's probably the sound that the cut created by the attack. The lizard-looking individual died instantly then turn into a gas-like matter then formed into a marble.

"Who's that!?" The leader caught the noise and instantly alerted.

"I-Intruder! Kahk!" The other lizard-look person shouted in panic. The next moment, a glimmering slash cut his head and interrupted whatever he is about to say.

The leader began to panic and noticed that the twenty-plus people under him did not respond despite the commotion. "Y-You! Don't you dare kill me! The elder of Swampent will definitely come after you... Arg! W-W-Wait! Wait! Please!"

Rio watched the fellow beg to stop then stabbed his Diamante Katana on the three behind his target.

"Please, I beg you to spare me!" The fellow said then kneeled on the ground. He can't see who was the person who killed his companions, but he is sure that he is a top-notch assassin. Despite the skill of his companions to hide their selves, this fellow still managed to kill them instantly without making a sound.

"You're begging now that your life is in the line. But didn't you plan to do that as well?" Rio disables Sona's Assimilation then spoke before stomping on the stomach of the Swampet person. "Speak! If your answer suits my liking, I might as well let you go."

"Please, I can serve you. I..." The Swampet person said but stopped when he felt the pain increasing.

"Speak! For what reason do you have to ambush an Earther who does nothing to you?" Rio asked then took the Diamante Katana stabbed on the tree.

"The... Earther? N-No, I just want the spear on his possession!" The Swampet person answered with difficulty.

"Then tell me why do you want that piece of crap out of his hands to the point that you'll have to gather this bunch of useless people to ambush him?" Rio Magus

"You... You don't know a thing?" The Swampet asked in disbelief, but he quickly spoke after Rio lifted his sword. "M-Materials for our life weapons! Life weapons are what we receive before entering the testing ground. It's connected to us, and you need to kill more monsters or absorb their carcass to upgrade its class!"

"Then why the hell my sword did not change a bit after killing tons of class 5 beast? And why the hell my weapon needed to kill other examinees just to upgrade mine?" Rio asked again.

"N-no! Killing class five straight is not effective. You need to start from the lowest class then start climbing up." The Swampet said then continue. "About the upgrade on killing examinees, that's the last thing you should do. Once you maxed it out, your weapon will upgrade in grade, you'll also lose your chance to upgrade its class!"

Rio felt confused as to why his grandfather did not tell him a thing through the letter. Does he need to use his own ability and discover it himself? That's just a waste of time. "Then tell me hod did make the other Earther betray him?"

"T-That? We told him the information I just told you then help him upgrade it four times without him leaving the city! That kid's a coward. Please..." The Swampet person said then began to plead when the Diamante Katana on Rio's hand flashed then cut his head off.

"That senior, he turned on me just for a bunch of monsters..." Rio sighed then canceled his assimilation with Ziggs and Fizz then returned to his original height. His transformed and extra ears were gone but his psych still buffed because of Garen while his eyes were crimson because of shyvanna. The corpse in front of him turned into vapor then turned into marble.

Rio sighed after noticing that he already filled a quarter of his weapon upgrade system. He quickly assimilated with Yasuo, Sona, and Dr. Mundo. He went in a full assault mode and killed hundred of class one beasts.

The night is the hardest time to hunt class one to three beasts because they are well hidden and taking a rest. But that's not the same when it comes to Rio.

He simply killed the sleeping class one beast and quickly made his weapon upgrade.

The katana on Rio's hand glow for more than ten seconds. Rio then felt his sword's weight decreased by a tenth.

The same thing happened as hunted up to class four beast and upgraded the Diamante Katana three more times.

Its weight is now on par with his spear; which he likes a lot. However, despite its weight reduced by 40%, the weight of the sword when it hits an enemy is four times the original weight. Why is that? Is it because it is his own Life Weapon?

Rio took out the 24 life weapons of those who he killed. The javelin the Swampet wield broke when he attacked making it useless.

He quickly checked his map for any class five beasts and quickly find a class five Nightmare Owl near him. Nightmare Owl is described to be the best hunter when the night comes. It doesn't use any darkness or shadow-related skill but mental and sound attacks instead.

Its vision is the strongest ability it possesses since it allowed him to silently approach and kill a prey it set its eyes on.

Rio leaped on the tree the beast is staying to get near it. His movements were smooth and precise; not creating unnecessary noise as he got a meter away from the Nightmare Owl.

'Swift and Silent!' Rio's body went blurry before disappearing completely.

The Nightmare Owl saw Rio for a moment before he disappeared from its sight. The Nightmare Owl immediately open its mouth then created a noise of its beak.

'Screech! Screech! Swook!

Rio who appeared behind the Nightmare Owl felt the impact from the noise the beast created that he immediately stabbed the head to shut it up.

'Justice! 'Demacian Justice'!' Rio jump from his place then activated a skill. The Diamante Katana on his hand glowed and illuminated the area around him. His target showed itself, it was a two-headed Bat!

The bat was shocked by the light and tried to cover its eyes with its hands. The beast glided from far above and it's planning to grab the Nightmare Owl as its dinner. When the Two-headed Bat leaped to kill its prey when his prey suddenly created a noise before dying after a second.

It saw the person who killed its prey and decided to went after him instead. That's why when the beast covered its eyes, it crashed into the branch Rio is standing before.

'Splash!'

The Two-headed Bat's dived at a high speed, and the result when it crashed on the brunch turned its body into vegetate state. Rio then stabbed decapitated the beast.

With the created by their little fight attracted more beast off with at least class five. Rio felt elated and decided to went all out. He undo the assimilation with Sona then assimilated with his favorite, Darius.

"Hasag! Hasagi! Demacia! On wings of fury! Behold my true form! ..." Rio shouted one after another, attracting even some of the examinees near him.

The scene where Rio suddenly turned into a gigantic purple scaled dragon created fear in the group of examinees as he spat a large fireball; killing multiple monsters who went after him and turned them into cooked meat.

They also saw a Whirpool of blades that actually cut a huge tree that every beast under rank one has difficulty when cutting them.

When the tree fell, a lot of beasts that hiding to ambush Rio went into turmoil. Even those beasts who are sleeping went out of their hiding area to run away from the commotion.

Two hours passed and Rio managed to kill every class five beast who challenged him.

The problem now is he is unable to hunt more. Wherever he went, the beasts and examinees run from the fear of being killed by him.

Rio has no other choice but to went back into the premises of the city and looked after the One-Fuel representatives.

Some examinees took notice of Rio's arrival and some of them managed to witness the massacre Rio created.

They watched as Rio entered the encampment created by the group created by the One-Fuel representatives. What happened next was explosions and screams from the representative of the One-Fuel race.

Rio stepped out of the encampment and threw a ball made of fire and set the whole encampment into the fire.

"What a brute! He killed all the three of them! Who is he?!" An examinee asked as he watched Rio went to the entrance of the city.

"Those idiots have it coming. Just because they stronger than most of us, they tried to hog every resource available." Another witness said then continued. "That guy is the Earther who arrived yesterday night, and of course, these nut-brains did something and offended him."

"The fuck are explaining?! Killing is still killing. Do you know that members of the One-Fuel race have customers all over the universe?" Replied the first person.

"Idiot! Do your homework, you brainless brat! That guy is an Earther. Next to Earther is the name of the contractor of the high god, Magus!" The person said in annoyance then left the other person behind.

The other witness fell silent as he looked at the wild flames that burned the whole encampment and feel a chill running through his spine.

Stories of the event spread to the examinees sent into Vinel city, making Rio's savageness a subject of fear.

While everyone is still in shock of what an Earther did, the subject of fear is walking with Rebecca and Bluch. They are going to the other side of the city. The one facing the wide river.

When Rio went back to his room, he saw Rebecca and Bluch's eyes are not focused. They didn't even notice that Rio is already back. It seems like the task was exhausting them so he decided to take them out to have some fresh air.

"Say, Rio. Won't you forgive Rever if he ever asked for forgiveness?" Rebecca suddenly said emotionless.

"Why bother?" Rio answered with another question. "My grandfather thought me, 'Once a traitor, is always a traitor'. Even if I forgive and let him join the group, there will be a day he will betray us once again."

Rebecca look at Rio's face then sighed. Rio noticed it and feel troubled. Rebecca and Rever are always bickering, but they were training buddies so she felt pitiful about what happened to him.

"Don't worry about that punk. Even if you told him that the city is safe, he will definitely lock himself inside his room for the rest of the test. I also left a parting gift for him to pass the first exam." Rio then took a dimensional pouch within his dimensional pouch. He threw it to Rebecca and said. "Take that, senior sister.
