New friend
Claire felt very satisfied with herself, she sat on her chair and smiled, she started arranging the minutes of the meeting.
Meanwhile Jeff and McDonald were in their office and having a serious conversation "did you see her performance today?" Jeff asked McDonald "I always knew she had a wonderful talent inside of her" McDonald replied
"she was very bold, that is really nice, I felt on top of the world at that moment, did you see the look on Ronald's face? I was very happy at that" Jeff said giggling
"that's aside, what were you telling her?" McDonald asked "she is joining us for lunch" "Jeff women are dangerous, be careful" McDonald said and left the office.
On the other side of the building, Claire had finished arranging the minutes of the meeting, she rested her back on her chair when she heard a knock on her door "come in" Claire spoke gently,
a young lady who seemed to be her age grade came in "good morning Claire" the lady greeted "good morning, take a seat" "I know you don't who I'm, I'm Lea, I'm a new employee here" "wow nice to meet you" Claire said "I love your determination to work and above all I love your boldness " Claire giggled
"thank you for the complement" "I would love to be your friend" Lea said "my friend, alright then friends we are" Claire said "so can I know more about my new friend" Lea asked "I believe you have an office which you are to occupy and I don't think the boss will be happy to see you here discussing with me" "yes, you are right, I will see you during lunchtime" Lea said and left, Claire watched Lea leave her office, she was a short fair lady with short blonde hair, she looked very beautiful.
Lunchtime arrived very quickly, Claire was in her office trying to put things together before going for lunch when Lea walked in, "I told you that I will meet you during lunch" Lea said "yea, you will be my escort" "where are we going to?" "You will find out when we get there" Claire spoke and went outside with Lea. The two of them were talking about food when Jeff and McDonald came out "it's time to go" Jeff spoke, Claire walked towards the car, when she got there she found out that Lea wasn't following her "come on Lea" Claire said "I should come?"
"Yea, we are going out" Claire said while entering the car, Lea walked slowly to the car and sat beside Claire. The ladies sat at the back, while the men were at the front, Jeff was the one driving, he drove at a very high speed "Jeff could you please reduce the speed of your car" Claire said but Jeff didn't hear her,
Lea held the door of the car firm as if it was to protect her, McDonald who was busy on his phone looked at them through the rear mirror and started laughing, they looked like kids who were scared to death
"Jeff do you realize that we have ladies on this car" McDonald said tapping Jeff, Jeff then slowed down a bit, looked at them and smiled wickedly "are you guys really scared" Jeff asked
"death is real" Lea said and everyone laughed. They arrived the bar , it s a big one, many expensive cars drove in and out, they came down from the vehicle and went inside, the waiter came and took their orders and left to bring it back to them "what is your name" McDonald directed the question to Lea "Lea"
"what department are you?" "Sales and marketing department" said Lea. The waiter returned with their orders and the four of them discussed "do you like your job" Jeff asked Lea "yes I do, at least I can caterer for my self and be independent" Lea responded
"do you live with your parent" asked McDonald "yes I do but they are not well to do" Lea responded, they continued with the questions and answers until McDonald informed them that they had to go, the four left after Jeff footed the bill, McDonald and Lea walked side to side though they weren't talking, at their back was Jeff and Claire who were talking "tomorrow I'm not coming to work" Jeff said "why?" Claire asked "so are you, you will be coming to my house tomorrow for business talk" Jeff said and McDonald turned to look at him, "your house?" "Yes, I will text you my address" Jeff said "okay" was the only thing Claire could say and they went back to their office.
When they got to the company, everyone went their separate ways, "did you ask her to come to your house" McDonald asked "yes" Jeff replied and walked out on him.
The company closed as usual 8:00pm, Lea and Claire went home together since they lived in the same street. On getting home Claire found out that Myles hadn't gone to bed, he was still playing video game, Claire ignored him and went to prepare noodles, while she was eating her noodles, Em walked in "oh my God, it's been a long time" Claire said as she hugged Em "work has really been hard on us, we need to catch up sometime" Em said "that's right" "I got you a suit, I knew you needed one" "thank you so much Em, you are like a sister I never had".
