Chapter nineteen

It was a sunny day and the trees were blooming. The birds were singing among the leaves of the trees and Sayo was listening to the birds singing while sitting in a corner. His sword was by his side. In his thoughts, he was trying to add to his self-knowledge. He was thinking about doing something to become a better person.

Among the people in the camp, there were those who were not strong fighters, but they helped in other tasks such as cooking, healing, and carpentry.

Although there were fighters who helped in these works. For example, Sina was a very skilled fighter, yet he helped in cooking.

Or Arthur used to chop firewood sometimes.

Although Rose was a skilled archer, she helped Bart and other nurses in the healing work.

Sayo thought to himself that maybe by learning a skill, he could become a better person and add a new dimension to his life in addition to being a warrior.

As far as he knew, besides being a good fighter, his father was also a great farmer and the quality of his produce was always better than the other farmers in the village.

Sayo made his decision and together with Arthur and some other members went to the nearby forests to collect firewood.

Along with Sayo and Arthur, there were four men whose duty was to cut firewood.

Everyone stood in one place and everyone started chopping the tree trunks that had already fallen to the ground with an ax.

Sayo hit with a lot of power and had pushed the work forward.

After cutting firewood they started to return to the camp. Sayo asked Arthur about his wound and Arthur calmly said that it was nothing serious. Arthur was always a tough guy that everyone including Sayo respected him a lot.

After reaching the camp, they saw Joe holding some papers.

Joe: "The government has raised our bounties.

Leonardo, Rose and Arthur 3000 coins each and they also want Rose dead this time." Rose was a little shocked and said :" My father finally want me to die?"

Johan continued :" Joe 600 coins. Robert 700 coins. 500 coins for myself. Elena 450 coins. Gregor 350 coins. Richard 200 coins. Sina 400 coins. Bart 50 coins. Aria 50 coins and Sayo 250 coins. And 900 coins for Fred's head . Frank 300 coins also."

"Hahaha... I'm higher than you." Sina told Gregor.

" Shut up damn cook. Next time I'm the one with higher bounty."

Sina and Gregor had a competition with each other.

Sayo's bounty had risen a lot. There was no surprise. After all, he had killed a famous commander. His actions and fights had reached the ears of the rulers of Rhodes.

Leonardo said in a loud voice to everyone present: "This only shows their fear. This money seems tempting to many people. Especially to the poor people in the countryside, but these same people know us as heroes and have hope in us. They will never destroy their hope with their own hands."

Rose: "That's right. We had victories that made the government afraid. We went through hardships and our work is going to be easier from now on. Right now we are very popular among most of the villages. We can arrange our plan by asking their help. They won't let us down."

Arthur emptied the firewood into a corner and turned to Sayo and said, "Do you have energy for training?"

Sayo picked up his sword and was training with Arthur.

Without a doubt, Sayo had gotten stronger, but he still wasn't close to Arthur.

Sayo was using different techniques with all of his energy left on his body. But Arthur was easily dismissing and deflecting and blocking them.

Gregor, Sina and Johan watched their fight.

After hours of fighting, Sayo passed out and lay on the ground while Arthur was leaving.

Leonardo approached in front of Sayo and thanked him for his efforts and work for the camp.

Leonardo with a lot of praise: "The first time I saw you, I had a feeling that you are unique."

Sayo struggled to stand on his feet and talked to Leonardo about his goals and feelings.

Leonardo listened to Sayo's words and said, "Love, protecting those you love, self-knowledge and fighting the monster inside you, these are all good goals and I can understand what you are trying to say. But I believe that everyone should have very ambitious goals and dreams and do everything to achieve them."

He continued with a special enthusiasm: "I am also fighting the monster lurking inside me. I do everything to make each and every one of my people feel safe. Besides these, I want to change the world. I will build a new world and my name will be recorded in history."

Sayo was thinking after hearing Leonardo's words. He thought to himself about dreams he should have. Perhaps self-knowledge is the key to finding his goal.

While his mind was busy with Leonardo's words, he went to the tent where Arya was resting to inquire about her condition.

Arya's leg condition had improved a bit and Bart believed that by next week she would be able to stand on her feet as before.

Sayo's mind had calmed down.

Both because of Arya and Elena's words, and because of the activities he had done, and because of Arya's recovery.

Bart left the tent and Sayo was leaving the tent while being very tired. But Aria said to him: "Please stay in the tent tonight. Don't leave me alone."

Sayo felt a little embarrassed and sat next to Aria for a while.

Sayo: "Thank you for what you said yesterday. It made me feel better."

Arya in a soft and gentle voice: "You don't always have to complicate things for yourself. We are all on your side. Just like the way we supported Joe."

Sayo lay down next to Arya. And they started talking while holding each other's hands.

Their relationship had already became stronger and an indescribable love had formed between them.
