Chapter 8:The Worst Case Scenario
Astria's POV
"ughh" i groan while walking at the hallway headed to the main palace where the banquet was held.I have no intention going to the banquet but my father sent my brother to pick me up and he's escorting me since my aide whom i mostly used as my partner is sick, i heard that he cried to lina a lot tsk what's his problem anyway i was the one who almost died and will die if being caught
"Astria Faith Felice don't sigh like your going to die, what's up with you these days did something happened, don't tell me your plans had failed"Roland ask and so i gave him my deadly glare
"brother i never once felt defeated in my life i do fail sometimes but this one is very different was i being too proud and arrogant that's why im being punished" i can't hide my feelings anymore it feels like i wanted to cry,we haven't loss yet but my life is already in danger and my brother will probably understood my feelings
"haizz i really feel bad whenever you blame yourself for something that has come, don't be sad you done great things for the kingdom and your one of the greatest prodigy we ever had so it's your right to be proud and it's not your fault what were against up is the empire so we should expect the unexpected you said it yourself before right" he patted my head and smiled 'seems like ria has failed then father and i must do our best to win the emperor'he thought
"yeah your right but im not done yet i still have some last resort so don't worry too brother" i smiled back to assure him "What a lovely sight, I didn't know that your a married man prince" a cold voice interrupt us so we stop and was surprised to see the emperor at our front who was a few meters away from us
"ah Greetings your majesty" we bowed "hmm I didn't know that the black night was living here" he added when he saw Paul along with brother's escort knights,my heart was beating so fast i should really act cool so i can live hicc but this crazy bastar* is looking at me with a smile in his cold looking face
"pardon?"my brother ask "he meant your knight whose old already your highness" the man with brown hair and yellow green eyes with eyeglasses spoke "ah sir paul he's my sister's knight and i forgot to introduce this lady is my sister your majesty cause im still a single man but i didn't know sir paul was a black knight" brother spoke
"well black knight was a title given by the previous emperor to the knight that defended him in the battlefield he was a strong man yet resigned after he reached his age of 35" the man explained making my brother loss his face and gave a shock look
"w-what" he ask "how have you been your majesty, im happy that you still remember me but that title is already long gone im a knight working at the princess now" sir paul spoke from behind and the emperor just agreed
"i see then who is this princess that you serve" he ask and stare at me ah so it's my turn to say a word "Astria Faith Felice your majesty, it's my honor and pleasure to meet you,the great sun of Xaverion empire" i hold the hem of my dress and bowed "i thought you were mute princess" he spoke yet was suspicious "forgive me i didn't want to interrupt your conversation but it's best if we continue later or well be late" my brother gasp
"ah right we should go the banquet now" he said "I'll see you at the party then princess" he said while we walk ahead of them since the emperor will be the last to be introduced. "Ria no matter what don't leave my side nor mother's ok" brother was serious and I don't need to guess why because the way the emperor looks at me was like hunting his prey so of course I'll avoid him as possible as i can.....
That's what i thought but now im facing him alone while sitting at the same table with him i didn't even know how i got in this situation hiccc:,-)
