Chapter 21: Imperial Knights
"did you have fun walking around" Lucius ask when Ria saw him at the door of the inn "yes your highness so I'll be resting" she replied and walks in towards the stairs to her room, Lucius just ignore her and walk outside to train with the knights, the woman who was the owner of the inn came down from the stairs "ah miss the bath is ready, so you should take a bath now" she said so Ria was confused "but i didn't ask for a bath" "the lord told me to prepare,you must have travel far, taking.a bath will be difficult so you should bath now" she said
"who ordered you?" she ask with a gentle tone "the lord who was down here,he really is scary but kind" she complimented "mother,the knights ask for drinks" a man shouted so she hurried to go down "ah I'll be there son, I'll be going miss" she said Ria was left with confuse look but went to her room
'did she meant the emperor?' she thought and look at the washroom, there was a hot tub with petals of Roses scattered, "ugh it smells great" ria was happy just smelling the roses and it's aroma blend in the water, it reminds her of how lina prepared her bath, she slowly took off her light dress,unlike other royalties nor nobles that can't do things in their own,ria can be independent since she was comfortable doing some things on her own.
"swoosh" when she submerged in the water she used her magic to make some bubbles float in the air and she played with it "hmm" she enjoyed her bath and took her an hour to finish "oh did she prepare this" when she came out a long red skirt with white shirt was on the bed along with the undergarments.she wear the clothes and dried her hair
"ack, clang cling" she heard noises near her window so she took a peek,it was dark but she can still see someone from outside "ah"her eyes widen just seeing how the knights Slash their enemy like their not humans and the way they fight was truly terrifying,like some black wolfs tearing their enemies
She saw Lucius using magic to prevent the people from the inn to witness this scene and now she knows why she only heard small screams, Lucius was just standing and staring at his knights that were fighting, there was like a 100 assassins and some of them were mages so Ria trembles realizing that the imperial knights who seems ordinary can defeat those who had magic
"knock knock" ria came back to her senses when a knock was heard,she step away from the window and opened her door "yes" she ask it was Evan who knocked "princess it's dinner time" he said "ah right but what about the others" she ask "they're busy but his Majesty and sir paul will be joining" he said "i understand" she replied and came out from her room and headed downstairs
"btw you can just call me Evan princess" he said and Ria stare at his eyeglasses "then you can call me ria,Evan" "im afraid I can't princess ria" he smiled "oh that's fine too" she giggled "how old are you evan and why are you wearing a thick eyeglasses" she ask "im 26 this year,i have eye problem so I need a thick eyeglasses,what about you princess how old are you" he ask "I'll be turning 22 in a few months" "don't you have a fiancee" Evan ask
"no i don't have any interest in marriage you see" "but how did the nobles from your kingdom accept it" he was curious "They didn't but my father did so they had no choice but to let me be,what about you why are you the aide of the emperor,you must be from a high status"Ria "my family is just a noble that served the temple,i just piqued the interest of his Majesty so i became his aide, I've known him for 10 years and im really surprised to see how he behave these days" he ask
"and how do i behave" a cold voice greeted them when they reach the dinning room of the inn, Lucius was standing at the front door "ah n-nothing your highness" he replied. "let's have a sit princess" Evan took a chair for Ria and they sat down Lucius also sat beside them "i thought my knight was joining" she ask evan "yes he" "he's enjoying his time with my knights" Lucius cut his words "really?" ria ask when he said that sir paul was enjoying she thought he was making a story
"he's with them trying to check their skills" he added 'i guess sir paul is impress'she thought "enjoy the food" a woman who seems to work here served their dinner "thank you" ria smiled and took her fork and spoon, Evan was hungry as well so they didn't mind Lucius and dig at their food "tsk" Lucius stare at the two who seems like they were starve for days
When they were eating their desserts Ria ask some questions "are the knights that came along with you are your personal knights" "that's too many to be called personal knights" Lucius"then are they your knights" "they are members of the elite knights of the empire,they are the strongest amongst the 200 other members,some of them are commoners" he replied "oh" ria didn't say much since she knew about that already
"some of the knights are mages princess such as sir owen, he's a commoner but was gifted" Evan spoke 'ah so he must have sense my mana that's why he gave me a warning' she thought "that's amazing" she complimented "there are 10 who can use magic so even if you tried to hide your mana, they'll still sense it" Lucius and he stood. "it's late you should take a rest we'll leave early in the morning" he said
"Evan escort her back to her room and come outside" he glared at evan and left "yes your majesty" he replied and Lucius went out of the room "let's go princess" "hmm" when they went back Evan explained some things "we'll be having a meeting with the other knights princess and his majesty must have given some secret orders that's why he's in a hurry but don't worry everything is being handled well even if they try to do something they'll never win against his majesty" "i can guess" Ria agreed,when they reach her door Evan bowed "have a good night princess ria" he said and left so ria went inside and lay at the bed.....
