Chapter 15: Spying
Astria was moving like a wind,she was using the wind to be invisible and sir paul was only sighing while guarding her who was hiding behind the walls and keep looking around. "princess why are you hiding when you used your power to be invisible" he ask and ria flinch "w-well it's better to be safe sir paul" she replied 'that bastar* can detect me so i better hide myself' she thought and gasped when she saw the emperor who was walking along with the crowds while his men were following him
"eekk" she hurriedly hid behind the walls so sir paul tried to peek at the crowds "oh it's his majesty, it's surprising that he likes to wonder at a place like this there's a lot of people swarming around" he said and he was suddenly grabbed by ria "ah" sir paul was old enough for a scare and he thought he lost some time of his life just being pulled by her
"sir paul you can't peek at them what if they'll see you it's dangerous" she said while trying to take a peek and sir paul just sigh. "princess what is it that you want from the emperor,you can ask for an audience with him than trying to spy on his moves" he said and ria was not listening 'why is he stopping and looking at some vendors,what is it that he's buying' she thought
"princess? princess Astria?"he called and ria turn around to see what he was calling for her
"what's wrong sir paul" she ask but her eyes widen when she saw one of the knights that had first broke her barrier,it was sir el staring with his straight face he said "princess Astria his majesty invites you to come along with his tour he said to come along with us rather than spying like a pervert behind the walls though it was amusing for him to be stared at he was uncomfortable" he said and ria's face flush to red like tomatoes,she was embarrassed that she felt like she was humiliated
"ahh I'll I'll be following you afterwards i-i just need to talk with my knight first"ria answered with a blushed face and so sir El bowed "I'll tell his majesty then" he said and bowed then used the road behind to return to Lucius
"sir paul!"she screamed and stare with eyes that were about to cry "princess i called for you many times but you weren't listening and i forgot to tell you the emperor himself has sharp senses that he can detect those who tried to spy on him and if you were listening to me before thia wouldn't have happened" he nags her and ria was now ashamed
"i was really being careful though you should have said it from the start" she said and sir paul sigh "im sorry princess but it's best if you have a talk with the emperor than peeking on him like a pervert" "sir paul im not a pervert" she cried but sir paul only encourage her "then please go and meet him already since he's waiting" he said and so ria pouts and walk out of the walls that she was hiding
Lucius was smirking when Ria was pouting and was walking towards them,he told evan to return to the palace to bring all of the stuff that he bought he was standing beside a shop while one of his knights is guarding him "we meet again princess but isn't it early for you to make a decision" he said and ria just stare at him "i was just making sure you won't spill some blood in the kingdom" she replied and Lucius find it laughable. "pftt hah what an excuse princess but as you can see I'm looking for valuable items your kingdom had and bought some" he replied and ria just nods "i can see that your" she didn't finish her sentence when Lucius cut her
"Lucius just call me by my name" he coldly said and Ria was surprised. "im sorry but I can't just call your name" she replied. "then don't and you'll scare your people for calling me that way" he threaten her but ria smile. "fortunately your majesty i had my magic to make a soundproof barrier revolves around us no one will casually hear us unless we tried to talk with them" she said like she was pleased
"hmm" Lucius didn't answer her back and started walking so ria followed. "your not trying to hide it huh" he ask and ria flinch realizing what she had done. "ah ah w-what" she was shock that she doesn't know what to say anymore "your highness please go easy on the princess she's still young" sir paul said and ria wanted to cry 'are you my knight or not' she thought and Lucius turned around to face her who was looking down at her sandals
"she is young and naive indeed, either way your very brave to admit and show me your magic did you think it was hard to detect your mana and hide it from me,why aren't you answering princess or should i say miss assassin" he said and ria didn't try to lift her head and only tremble
She was caught and it was because of her damn mouth and now she was in a position where she wanted to disappear. "oh excuse me" a man was walking carrying a boxes of apples and was coming at their way so they made way for him but ria who didn't try to look just stand there like an idiot, Lucius just grabbed her hand and she was surprised to be pulled by him "hah are you deaf" Lucius ask and let go of her hands when the man had walk away
"s-sorry but are you going to k-kill me or s-spare me"she ask and stare with such anxious eyes at Lucius though she already knew the answer she wanted to make sure of it.Sir paul was only guarding while standing besides sir el and when ria was about to be hit he was ready to protect her but surprisingly the emperor help her but it shock sir paul the moment she ask those questions
'i already knew that she tried to test the emperor but did she hurt him' he thought and hurriedly came between them "your majesty please spare her highness i don't know what she had done but" he didn't finish when Lucius spoke with his mad voice
"what she did was unforgivable,she dared to sneak an attack and hurt me, it's cowardly of her to run away from me" he spoke and ria just shut her eyes he knew he was mad but this was not the place as they were standing near the coffee shop so she offered him first
"why don't we talk inside first your majesty" she begged with her voice which was filled with fear "hmm it seems like today is your last chance though i gave you two days but you blew it" he said and entered the shop ria sigh and sir paul stared at her. "princess d-did you just harm the emperor" he ask,sir paul knew what kind of person the emperor was since he served the late emperor he was also watching and guarding the 4th prince which was Lucius and he knew how that kid was strong and doesn't forgive easily if ever someone wronged him
But more importantly he also knew the princess he was serving 'i know she's powerful but how did she succeed in hurting him' he thought and stared at ria whose eyes were about to cry so he sigh 'though she's really stubborn and had a harsh personality still she's a child who can cry sometimes if she knew she's in big trouble' he thought again
Ria was not a cry baby but if the people who she was comfortable with was with her and she knew that she's really in big trouble she wanted to cry but she swallowed her tears and answered sir paul "w-well he didn't try to avoid my attack like he thought i was weak so he got hurt" she said and bit her lips 'that bastar* was at fault but what can i do he's the emperor and i harm him' she thought "what about you did you get hurt" sir paul ask and ria was touched for his worry "no I didn't get hurt but we should go inside and negotiate with him since he spare me there's must be something he wants from me" ria said but Sir Paul got more anxious
"alright let's head inside princess, I'll stand near you so if the emperor will try to harm you I'll stall him so you can escape" he said with a serious tone and ria just nods since she doesn't want to prolong the conversation....
