clouded vision

my mind wanders, the various ideas of why I ended up in such a place at the speed I had gotten there.

noticing that I have, once again been distracted from my studies the horrid monster of sleep depravation glides to my desk, papers strewn across the glossed wood heaving all of my note books, folders and technology, he once again starts barking at me, turning my fogged mind against me, sifting through all the clutter I've accumulated, finally I hand in the illusive sheet of work dude in last Monday and wait for the snide remarks toward the now fully formed sketch that was now breathing life into my otherwise neat revision, the man hands back my paper with a new mark adorning the top left hand corner of what's now meaningless waste, I don't have the patience to rack my brain for the last answer to question 5c it will for now, stay an unexpected bump in the academic road to a mine to five job.

thirty minutes pass just as quick as they came sleep still illusive as I lay my head down on the mess of paperwork beneath me, startled at the sudden movement in front of me I lift my head, who awaits me is not welcome, a boy, tall, 'handsome' , vocal and apparently not good with reading the room as he just stares at me, never saying a word just watching me, as if I were some caged animal and he, a young boy, eventually he starts to realise he's not exactly welcome to gawk at me, something I never expected to come from his lips hit me like a vat of freezing water ,a question.

" do you see it too?"

I rack my brain as to come up with an intelligent answer but all that will show is a confused look and slight tilt of my head,

he said it again but this time with an added information

" do you see it too?, the thing in the rain I mean"

unless I've finally gone insane from it all then he was asking the most ridiculous question to ever fall upon my ears, what did he mean by thing?, is he insane?, why me?, this has got to be some kind of prank, right?
