Chapter One

Petunia sat sobbing in the corner of her family's garden. She hated this. She had been born a bit earlier in the year compared to the twins but she was completely unlike the two of them.

She had loved the two of them growing up but it still hurt the way their parents would look at her little sister Lily with pride whenever she made something strange happen when throwing a tantrum, and while her little brother Haryden was quieter she knew he was just like his twin.

She didn't hold her sister with much love but she adored her little brother, who would act more of an adult then their father did at times, which was why when she heard they'd be separated when the twins turned eleven she was devesated especially when Lily always flaunted this fact in front of her, preening when her parents praised her and her twin for their gifts.

So now here she was crying alone in the corner of their garden as her family was throwing a celebration, for the twins fifth birthday, with the strange Snape kid inside without her. It was moments like these that she realized just how jealous and bitter she was towards her siblings.

It was as her feelings started to spiral into hatred when she heard a voice one that always brought her relief. "Pet what are you doing sitting out here you're going to catch a cold!"

It was at that voice that she recognized as her younger brother's and the strange warmth she felt enveloping her that she actually remembered everything.

Unlike her sister her brother, Harridan, rarely threw tantrums, in fact he never did. She hadn't realized it until now but the only time he had ever shown signs of being like Lily was when he was alone with her and she needed help with something.

She remembered the disgust in his eerie green eyes as he gazed toward his twin when her magic broke something during a tantrum. The annoyance when Lily complained about his nightmares; for they shared a room. The anger when their parents seemed to forget she was alive for even a moment.

She had never thought about it before because her brother was always relaxed around her, always looked at her with affection.

So when she heard his words she wanted to scold herself for being so shocked.

"I asked Sev's mother you know, about what this magic entailed. She told me a lot, but she also said that Lily and I will likely be stronger than most because we're magic twins." Her brother seemed to hesitate to speak bit that she minded he was always quiet carefully choosing his words.

He sits down beside her and with a wave of his hand the clothes that once stuck to her were now dry and she could no longer feel the rain. She couldn't help the smile that came to her face, but it fell quickly.

"I hate her though. My skin crawls at the fact she's my other half. Her magic is disgustingly light almost forcefully so." The amount of disgust and hatred in his tone shocked her, she had never noticed how much contempt he felt for his twin and sister Lily. "My magic agrees with me as well, it hates her and wants to reject her. Mrs. Prince said that such an occurrence between twins is rare and dangerous, if it's not handled correctly and fixed it'll result in our magic being weakened and broken, and generally it leads to death. But she said she's willing to help as long as I find someone to replace Lily even a muggle would be fine according to her. So I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be my twin, I mean my magic one?"

She felt her brows scrunch up as she questioned him silently, and her brother seemed to understand perfectly what she was asking.

"It's a transfer of power kinda. Since we're not old yet my magic core hasn't matured and you're body hasn't completely rejected magic. If you become my magic twin my magic will connect with you and help you develop a core of your own. Sorry this must all sound really confusing." He scratched the back of his his a sheepish smile on his face as he turned to face her. And once again she became aware of the complete unconditional affection in his eyes, "What I'm trying to ask is whether you'd like to have magic and go on an adventure in the Wizarding World with me, as part of it?"

With but a snort as tears fell from her face she had hugged him and stated with conviction, "Yes!"

They shared a large grin before he stood up and dragged her up as well, "Now let's get inside, with or without our magic I won't be able to prevent us from catching a cold." She laughed following behind him as she dragged her back in to enjoy her brothers fifth birthday.
