Infiltration

Trey looks them over. "So, which one of you was it?"

Farkas holds up Raven. "She is."

Trey's face remains emotionless as he tries to figure out if this is some kind of joke.

"I killed those bastards." Raven tries to sound as menacing as possible with her high pitched voice.

"I didn't come put here to play games."

Luna furrows her brow and takes a step forward. "She's telling you the truth. Show them what you can do, Raven."

Raven tries to cast dark magic. Nothing happens. She tries everything, including making strange hand gestures that she's never performed in her life.

"We have a problem." Raven lowers her head, defeated. "I can't use magic right now."

Luna can't help but to wonder how that's even possible. 'Could it be because of her body transformation?'

A shiver runs down Raven's spine. "This means I can't go back home."

Farkas turns Raven around to look at her face. "What do you mean? Are you not able to go home without magic?"

"That's right. To go home, I need to create a portal between this world and mine."

"Wait." Luna steps in. "Are you telling me that your not from this planet?"

"To be more precise, I can travel between the multiverse. Some of us have a spell for it, while some use magic artifacts."

"And you're just telling me this now?"

"You never asked."

Luna grinds her teeth out of rage before realizing she had plenty of opportunities to ask her.

"Still though, you could have mentioned it."

Farkas turns his attention to Trey who has been silently listening to this point. "Please, let us in. We plan to escape this city eventually, and we thought you'd want to do the same."

"Yeah, about that." Trey rubs the back of his head. "We've found a way out, but escaping would be more dangerous than staying here. We found an underground tunnel, but we mostly use it to smuggle supplies in."

Luna rubs her hands together when she hears that they don't have to worry about finding a way out. 'All we need to do is build an army.'

"We'll teach you how to use magic to fight back against the Zendarians." Luna says. "Well, Raven will, I'm still learning."

Raven shifts her gaze. "I can barely handle you and Farkas. I don't need more idiots to train."

Farkas looks down at Raven with a saddened expression.

"No, not you. I was calling Luna an idiot."

Luna ignores her comments and focuses on the real issue at hand. "Please, Trey. We can show you it's possible to fight for our freedom if you just give us a chance."

After much consideration on Trey's part, he decides to let them in.

As they enter the fortress, the quality of the structures becomes more evident.

Many of the structures look almost brand new. Workers continuously treating the metal, removing rust and polishing it to decrease the chance of structure failure.

Some of the guards on the inside also have decent guns. Luna suspects they also smuggled those in.

"Aa you can see, we have been ready for a fight." Trey uses his hands to gesture around. "However, they'll kill us in no time if we leave. We have no where to go on the outside, and if we did, we'd have a hard time making it there. We also have many young and old people who can't make the journey."

Luna looks over to Raven to see if she's going to respond to Trey. When Raven sees Luna looking at her, she sighs. "Magic is superior to your technology. It will take some time, but eventually, you would have the means to protect the weak."

"We'll see about that." Trey doesn't have much faith in her words. He's personally seen the strength of the Zendarians. He knows how strong they are.

Four days pass..

In that time, Luna and Raven had convinced a number of people to go through the transformation process.

They were slowly building up an army.

Luna had continued in her meditation and spell weaving. Raven kept pushing her to the limit of her abilities because she knew Luna had something to do with her new body.

What Raven didn't expect is how fast of a leaner Luna was. On hee fourth day here, she finally managed to create her first spell.

Raven can't help but to be shocked that Luna had manifested a blue orb in her hands. The spell still had no practical use in a fight, but it was a start.

"Holy shit. I can't believe I did it!" Luna exclaims. "You really are a good teacher."

Raven nods her head in approval. She knows she taking credit for something she only had a small part in, but she wanted the praise.

Meanwhile, Farkas was having a tough time. It felt like he wasn't making any progress. However, Raven reassured him that Luna is an outlier and that he shouldn't beat himself up over it.

Meanwhile...

On the outskirts of the city. Hundreds of mitsry vehicles are parked outside the walls. Thousands of soldiers exit and stand in formation.

They have bulletproof armor covering them from head to toe. The outside layer consists of a thin filament of graphene, which is one hundred times stronger than steel.

Their weapons are deadly, but they have an optional setting to fire stun bullets. Low trajectory bullets capable of rendering the target temporarily stunned with a powerful electrical shock.

The man that stands in front of them, the one leading them is General Wenslo. Standing by his side is his right hand man. Colonel Davis.

Wenslo speaks to his soldiers through a radio which they all carry. "You all know who to look for. A wolf like demon, and it's ability to change itself into a small black creature. You are authorized to kill anyone that gets in your way."

Wenslo pulls out a sheet of paper to read off of. "You will be split into five groups. Each group will enter the city from a designated location."

"We are dealing with a dangerous individual. Do not hesitate to use your grenade launchers and armor piercing rounds. Just be careful to not kill the target. We prefer to take it alive."

When everyone reaches their positions, Wenslo gives the order to attack. The auto turrets are temporarily shut down as they make their way inside and are only turned back on after all the soldiers are out of their range.

Wenslo breaks his silence and talks over the radio once again. "We have reports of its last known location. I want all of you to surround the settlement in the eastern part of the city. We cannot let it escape."
