Chapter 43: Problems Arising

Back in the slime dungeon—no, the dungeon of insanity.

Marble and Lydia were currently kneeling in front of two thrones with their heads bowed down, as they did not dare to raise their heads after what had happened.

On the two thrones sat two women; one had fiery red hair that reached her back and amber-colored eyes that gave the impression that they would get burned just from looking at her eyes.

She looked to be in her late twenties, and her left hand was currently supporting her head as she gazed at her children with a tired expression.

Her sister on her left had deep blue hair and light blue eyes that looked like a clear and unpolluted still lake that could never be disturbed by the world's matters.

This scene would have been a very beautiful and heart-calming scene if you had ignored the wreckage in the throne room.

The tables, chairs, and even the chandelier of the hall were all in different locations of the hall.

The two women just stared at the two girls in front of them with expressionless gazes, which made Marble and Lydia shiver. When it came to their mothers, the quieter they were, the angrier they got.

"So, explain" The blue-haired woman said with a bored tone, as she also stifled a yawn as tears appeared at the corner of her eyes.

"We lost Orb." Lydia just summarised the whole thing; she knew that her mothers already knew what had happened; she just wanted them to say it so that they could vent their anger at someone. And they were the only slimes out of all their brothers and sisters who had inherited their grandmother's mind, mimicry, and illusion powers.

The rest inherited their mothers elemental powers, so they were special and also hated.

"I know that, of course, you lost orb; what I want to know is how! How did you lose your orb!?" The woman with fiery hair sparked as she looked at Lydia and released her pseudo-fledgling powers at the duo. "I thought you were supposed to be the strongest of your siblings since you inherited our mother's powers."

"Pathetic." The blue-haired lady spoke lazily.

When the triplets told Doron they wanted to leave their mothers, they were not entirely lying, as they really wanted to leave, but they couldn't.

"It seems that you still want to see your sister get her body cut into little pieces again," the woman said with a devilish smile on her face.

Yes, there were four of them; their third sister, Globe, was the youngest of the group but had the most dangerous power, and that was mind control.

Any sentient and intelligent being she touches wouuld easily have their minds invaded and controlled.

"Sister, we have to still keep her sane; she is still needed for our plans." The blue-haired woman advised her fiery sister, who was always eager to inflict harm on others.

"What is the use of her staying alive when mother has already been taken? Without her, we can't control the little pieces of that girl that we left in those slime cores that those humans always harvest when they kill our children." She retorted as she threw a fireball at the nearest and still intact furniture in her sight.

Marble and Lydia, who were still bowing down, felt their legs weaken at what their mother had just said. 'Grandmother has been taken!?'

The nightmare that they had locked away in their hearts was slowly surfacing again.

"Relax; if what that god said is true, then mothers old master would come to this dungeon looking for her." The blue one spoke with a lazy expression on her face.

"So what has that got to do with anything? And how does it help our current state?" The fiery-haired woman asked with irritation in her tone.

She never liked it when her twin sister acted all aloof and mighty, like nothing phases her in the slightest; someone could literally be cutting her into pieces, and she would be looking at the person like he or she was doing her a favor.

"Think Le Feu; mother said it was about 300 hundred years ago that she was trapped here, don't you think he would have gotten stronger by now, We can just ride on his coattails and get mother back and launch our plans, and maybe avenge their sister in the process."

Le Feu, who had just heard what her sister said, calmed down a bit. She was the brawn, and her sister was the brains. That was why she had not tried killing her, talking about killing.

"How did Orb die? Is she not a slime? Where is her slime core? And don't tell me she was carrying it with her, and the realm menace saw it and crushed it." Le feu looked at the two kneeling girls and asked.

As slime, they usually had slime cores in their bodies, and when crushed, they turned into a pile of goo. Though when removed from the slime, they don't die, with their slime cores out of their bodies, they can have their bodies crushed and die.

Le feu knew that even though the quadruplets that she and her sister sired were more powerful than their siblings, who only had elemental powers, and because of the maltreatment they got, the quadruplets hid their slime cores somewhere safe, because unlike the average slime, these sisters were lucky enough to have caught the fancy of the god that blessed their mother, and he also blessed them.

This means that the sisters would not easily die with their slime cores outside them.

"... That was what we thought, but we felt her connection with us suddenly disappear. We went to where she hid her slime core and saw that it was crushed." Marble was the one that spoke this time, with anger and grief in her tone as she clenched her fist and felt like hitting the floor of the hall, but that would lead her into getting punished, and she was ready to receive the punishment of her mothers.

"Crushed? Are you sure that it was the right place?" The blue haired woman asked with a intrigue in her tone as her lazy expression was now replaced with a curious filled one.

"Yes, it was the place she told us about" Lydia responded.

"Oh, so you believe that she would tell you guys the real place, what if she is not really dead?" Le feu spoke, as she rubbed her chin, looking like she was contemplating something.

Marble and Lydia looked at each other and back to their bowing poses and Marble spoke. "She would not lie to us."

"... Okay, you can leave" Le feu said with an annoyed expression on her face. 'These girls are really playing dumb with us, they clearly know that we want to get their slime cores, but they are really hiding it and keeping their mouths shut about their locations.'

How could Marble and Lydia not know about what their mothers where planning for them. They had seen some of their siblings roaming around the dungeon floors, looking for something.

That was when Orb was still alive, so they decided to keep the cores with them, hidden inside their bodies.

They just did not expect that the realm menace was able to hit Orb's slime core that was located in the place that was most guarded by her, her head.

Yet, the realm menace was still able to hit the exact location of her slime core in Orbs head.

'We have to be more careful' The sisters both thought as they left the hall.

"L'eau, what did that god say about the dungeon now that the realm menace has acquired mother" Le feu asked her smart sister with an anxious expression on her face.

They were trying to move their conquest plans forward with the younger sister of the quadruplets, but who would have thought that a demigod would appear right at the time that their plans just needed a second to start.

All they could do was leave their mother alone with the demigod, who would have known that the demigod was there for their mother and not them.

They of course knew about the realm menace and thought that he would be a good addition to their plans. Why? They felt that he was someone that would do anything for power, and they planned on giving him a very good deal.

Of course there was their mothers long lost master, but from what they heard of him from their mother, they could only describe him in one word. "Goodie Goodie". Important things had to be said twice.

He was too good, saving babies from burning barns, saving young girls from burning barns, saving milfs from burning barns... There were a lot of Buring barns at that time apparently.

They did not know much about him, but their mother kept on calling him hubby or darling.

Their mothers familiar form was that of a three year old girl, and every time she talked about him, she would always cry her hearts out.

That was one of the reason for their plan, and that was to kill this hubby.

The blue haired woman who was called L'eau just looked at her sister and spoke. "He said one of the quadruplets should be the dungeon core, or we risk all our hard work going down the gutters"

"... Why not us?" Le feu asked clenching her fist, as the temperature of the hall got visibly hotter.

"Firstly, chill." L'eau waved her hands, and the hot temperature of the room returned to normal. "Secondly, we are not compatible with the dungeon, since we are just electronic slimes and not mind, illusion, mimic or mind control, so the dungeon might reject us."

L'eau got up from her throne and looked at the damaged hall.

"We will use Globe as the dungeon core; that would make our plans even more foolproof, and if she tries to threaten us, We can just carry one of the other sisters and use her to make Globe submit."

Le feu just looked at her sister, and lust smiled as she liked that idea; it brought happiness to her raging soul.

"But we have to do it fast; we don't want that 'hubby' to spoil our plans, and we can join the realm menace too." L'eau suddenly said, and her last sentence caught Le feu off guard as she looked at her sister.

"Are you okay?"
