Welcome to Tempest Cafe!

COVER DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. WILL TAKE DOWN IF OWNER WISHES Zelretch was chilling, minding his own business, when suddenly he felt multiple universes merging together. One of his incarnations went to investigate, but soon he lost connections to his other bodies. Then a beautiful goddess-like figure appeared before him, in the now merged universe. She had pure, baby-like skin, blue hair reaching to her knees, and ominous, red eyes that feels like it can see through everything. "Hello, the one known as Zelretch. Currently, you are fucked." __________________________________ Meanwhile, a cafe suddenly appeared in the middle of Japan. If you go inside, the smell of delicious food would immediately overwhelm you. You would see a split image of the goddess, but with gold eyes, serving customers with food and drinks. "Why are my customers so weird. There's the gothic loli dragon god over there, sipping on Tempest's special. And over there is a bald guy who has an ultimate skill and can actually use it." "And why is there a guy with spiky white hair and a blindfold here? Does he not know that this isn't a cosplay festival?" "There's also the fact that dragons are roaming in human form and working in an office." "Honestly, what has Ciel done? This world is a mess." ... "Snake power?" A certain dragon god offered Rimuru, "FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME, OPHIS, NO!!!"

Chapter 14 - Plot Twist and Fate?

Chapter 14 – Plot Twist and Fate?

They eventually got out of there alive. Because of the hacking and slashing technique of Denji, the devil ended up dying from too much pain. It offered it's heart to Denji in the hopes to end it, but he just responded with: "Eh, it's over already?"

After, most went to the hospital to recover, then for some reason Rimuru found himself at a drinking party.

Normally, he would naturally enjoy it, and lower his poison immunity. Even if he dies, he could just revive again. However, he couldn't enjoy this specific dinner because of the new person who arrived.

"Sorry I'm late." She said as she sat down.

Denji looked like he was struggling with something.

(Probably debating whether to kiss her or Makima. Ahhh, the choices we men have to make...)

Rimuru's thought process was quite complicated, as expected of a godly being.

But he soon realised that Makima kept staring at him, to the point where it made him uncomfortable.

(What's her problem?)

Then, one of the people suggested to have a little icebreakers, and introduce everyone.

"I'm 16."

"What!!"

"Nani!!"

Everyone was surprised that such a young person was a devil hunter. Normally, those who were, were people who suffered from devils in the past, and vowed to kill them even if it cost them their life.

"And now Rimuru. Please introduce yourself."

"Eh hemm. My name's Rimuru as said by Makima-sama. I am the mythology fiend. I joined because I had no choice. I was basically minding my own business when Makima almost ran me over. She then threatened me to either join or die." He said in resignation.

"Mythology fiend?"

"Yeah."

"What's that?"

"Idk."

His gaze found Aki, who began explaining on his behalf.

"He told me before that he can call upon the strengths of beings from different mythologies. When we fought the eternity devil, he manifested Excalibur from what I'm assuming to be the Arthurian mythos."

"That's quite the power."

Rimuru nodded and continued eating.

The rest of the evening was quite uneventful.

A few days has passed since then, and Rimuru was getting bored again. Every night, he went back to Tempest Café and snuggled up in Ciel's arm to sleep, always acting spoilt.

These boring days would soon end however, because after listening to Rimuru's complaining, Ciel decided to add the 'main protagonist halo' to Rimuru for an instant. In other words, now all interesting events will in one way or another happen to Rimuru.

And this was evident on the next day, when he was walking down the street.

He heard a bang, and time seemed to slow down. He looked behind himself to see a bullet in front of his eye. He noticed that 3 people were following him ever since he left the café.

Resuming back to normal time, he tilted his head to the side and avoided it.

"Huh? Again quick!"

A barrage of bullets soon followed, but none hit the target. Before they could even respond, Rimuru appeared behind them and knocked them out.

"Hmm, I see. That's quite interesting. Seems like my boring days are over. Now I can act cool AND not be bored!" A look of triumphance appeared on his face, as he teleported the three people to Tempest prison.

Since Ultima was the chief police officer, there had to be a prison to hold the criminals. This was actually a suggestion by her and after a couple months, a suitable prison was designed.

All criminals were given a number from 1 – 100. The higher the number, the more tortuous and painful their experience would be. From 1 – 25, it leans more towards the mild side like theft and disrespect. They would serve their number as the amount of years in prison. There was not much difference between this level and normal prisons, and there were work and stuff to do. Although, the work was cleaning the dungeon, which was now 1000 floors, with a guardian every 100 floors.

Numbers between 25 - 50 were a bit more severe. These include some damage to property and murder. They have life sentences and stricter surveillance, and their perception of pain were enhanced by 10 times, but it was still tolerable.

Numbers between 50 – 75 were regarded as the line to not cross. These include betrayal, serial killers and promoting banned activities to name some. These people were actually not managed. They are just thrown into a random planet and made immortal. They are given nothing, stripped of their strength, and had to deal with creatures and the conditions.

For example, they may be sent to a below freezing planet. In that case, they have no resistance to the cold, cannot die and cannot lose consciousness, and this is the same for other types of conditions.

Then, there were the no-no zone. 75 – 100 was the type of treatment that you would actually want to die. The information here was not revealed to the public, but there were rumours that those who enter here have no hope. The types here were crimes such as rape, abuse, mass genocide, lying in court to name a few.

These people would be sent into Ultima's care directly. Not that she deals with them, but her power would.

They are made immortal and cannot lose consciousness like 50 – 75, but the punishments were way more horrible. They are put in a sci-fi looking container, and their punishment was entirely on Ultima's mood.

One day, she might feel joyful when giving punishment, so she could send them into an infinite death cycle for 1000 years, just as she seen a TV series do.

Perhaps, she will erase their memories and send them to live a normal life. They will find love, have a loving and fulfilling family and life. Then, when it got perfect, disasters will happen to them that causes them to lose all hope. They will see everything they love perish and fall into despair. Then this cycle will repeat how many times Ultima wants it to happen.

Then after the specified time ends, all the memories will appear in their real body.

Basically punishments like these, but those were if Ultima's mood is good. Sometimes, there were just pure soul-shattering torture.

The entire prison, no matter how big it seems, is just a building in Tempest, but an intimidating looking one.

Just now, Rimuru gave them 26 as their numbers.

He then saw a massive worm-like body appear in a certain direction, so he rushed over there.

He saw a pile of clothes on the floor, a cut-in-half Denji and dead people everywhere. Aki had fainted and the building had collapsed.

(Sigh.)

...

He gradually opened his eyes.

He recognised this as the hospital ward, and sat up and saw Denji and Power beside him.

"Hey, who else survived."

"Oh, your awake. Apparently everyone apart from us, Kobeni and Madoka died."

"I see." He looked down and thought for a while, "what about Rimuru?"

"I don't know. No one mentioned him, but he's probably dead to be honest."

They then left since they were summoned by Makima.

Noticing he was alone, Aki pulled up his sword and suspiciously whispered to it.

"How long do I have?"

It then replied "two years."

Sighing to himself, he picked up a cigarette, but after looking at it for a while, tears began to appear in his eyes and he started to breakdown in tears.

...

"I'm Kishibe. Call me master. I enjoy booze, women and killing devils." He said before he snapped the necks of Denji and Power.

...

As Aki put his head inside the body, the future devil saw what he will become.

What it saw first was the gun devil, then Makima, then Aki... but then, he saw something that horrified him. It was a figure, a beautiful one with blood-red eyes, and it was staring into the stars. Just the appearance of the person made the future devil shiver, but then it turned its head towards him, as if knowing that the devil looked into the future. The figure then reached out her finger over her mouth and whispered 'Shh' before the devil returned to the present.

Breaking out into cold sweat, the devil took a few steps back before calming down and accepting the contract.

Then, it put on its usual front again, not trying to let any weakness show on its appearance.

...

Contrary to everyone's conclusions, Rimuru was not dead but quite well in fact. He was the one who secretly moved everyone to the hospital and left after.

He decided to think about how to make the most out of the situation, since he is now supposedly dead, he can't really appear in front of them anymore unless its for a cool plot-twist type situation.

(Hmm. I've been playing the good guy for a while now... What if... I now play as the mysterious, cool person who no one knows the background off. Yes, perfect. Mwuhahahaha I'm too smart.I would look so badass.)

An evil grin widened on his invisible face and Rimuru disappeared.

...

Denji was walking down a street, happily thinking of a date with Makima. He noticed a charity stand in the middle of nowhere. Normally, he wouldn't even bat an eye for this, but now was the happy and changed Denji.

(I will donate some to show my newfound heart.)

He then walks away whilst again thinking about Makima, and how her words were able to calm his pent-up concerns. He assured himself that he will ask her out later.

But as if fate wanted to make this more depressing, rain started pouring down, forcing him to take shelter nearby in a telephone booth.

That was where he met her, a short and black-haired women who started laughing as she entered the same enclosed space. Gradually, her laughter turned into tears, before saying that his face reminds her of her deceased dog.

"Hey, wanna go to this café called Tempest?"

"U-u-uh s-sure."

So she then led a flustered Denji by the hand to Tempest café.

She arrived and ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, which was a weirdly titled coffee drink.

However, things started to turn down hill from here, as when Denji took a sip, he had an expression of disgust and grimace on his face, which as you would expect definitely didn't sit well with Ciel.

(Hmpth! How dare he dislike my godly food. A mere devil as well. Her hands started to write letters on the air, and then a sound of shattering seemed to be heard by her as fate had just been re-written.

I curse you to always have bad luck with this relationship. You will never get laid by her. Who's the wrong one now!)

Unknown to Denji, he had just earned the irk and curse of one of the most scariest women to exist.

Currently, he was just happily chatting with the girl.

"Oh, by the way my name is Reze. What's yours?"

"Uh? Oh, Denji."

"Denji... Denji... nice to meet you Denji!" A bright and charming smile appeared, completely turning his face beet red.

"N-nice to me-meet you too."

(Wait, am I falling for her? What about Makima? Are my feelings for Reze growing?)

This then signalled the start to a very awkward and interesting conversation between the two. It was more like a conversation being led by Reze, and Denji was just there giving answers to questions; in other words a Q/A.

Meanwhile, Artoria at the side was munching on some heavenly biscuits watching the drama.

(They are so cringe. I've actually never seen a couple like this before. They're probably not normal, well... no one's normal if they can anger Ciel. My sixth sense tells me to not have anything to do with her right now. To be able to cause this type of reaction, I wouldn't be surprised if Ciel curses them to never work out or something...)
